                        Getting to know you

Karma's POV:

My brothers were not to happy with me at first for agreeing on this deal. But they understand that this was for the best of both families. So Sven and I will be playing 20 questions. Though it will feel like more. And if so, then so be it. It helps that on first impression he seems genuinely cares for others, so I'm having hope this will be a successful marriage.

Sven POV:

My soon to be beautiful wife and I are gonna play 20 questions. With us getting married in 1 and half to 2 years from now, we should get to know each other. I'm looking forward to being her husband. I'm just hoping she feels the same way. I am very thankful she is willing to give us a chance. I will do my absolute best to love her and make her feel loved and wanted. I'm on my way to ask her father if I may have a garden date so we may talk and get to know each other. ( I do this out of respect for her father) I walk up his office door and knock. I hear a "you may enter." I open the door and step in. "Sven, my boy what may I help you with?" Mr. Santiago asked. I asked my question and he gave permission, but we must have a chaperone. He calls Leo in and tells him he will be a chaperone on our garden date. You may ask what a garden date is, well it is exactly what it sounds like a date in the garden. Simple enough right.

Leo POV:

When father told me I was gonna be a chaperone on their garden date, I felt a bit awkward because this is my baby sister. But in our families the young woman are to have no funny business before marriage. If you catch my drift. The simple stuff holding hands and hugs are okay, but nothing remotely sexual. That's just the way we run our families.

Leo - L, Sven - S, Karma - K

L: Let's go and let's collect Karma and head out.

S: Okay, sounds good.

We walk to Karma's room and knock on her door. We hear a quiet "enter." As Sven and I enter she is just putting her shoes on.

L, S: Are you ready to go?

K: Wow that's creepy, you are not even related and you both said that in sync. I'm ready let's bounce.

Karma's POV:

We are walking to the garden in the back yard. Yes in my back yard. But the garden is my favorite place in this house. Leo stays back just enough that he can't hear Sven and my conversation.  But still remains in complete eyesight. Sven laid a blanket on the ground with a few finger foods. And two water bottles.  And we start our 20 questions.

S: lady's first.

K: Well think you kind sir.
First question,
What is your birthday?
Mine is April 10th

S: My birthday is December 12th.
What is you favorite flower?
I have no preference

K: My favorite flower I would say is the blue rose.
How many siblings do you have?
You already know mine. I have 7 brothers.

S: I have 2 siblings.  An older brother Matthew he is 24. And a younger sister Sarah. She is 6. My favorite color is green.
What is your favorite color?

K: My favorite color is any shade of blue.
Would you consider yourself more outgoing or more shy? For me I would say I'm more shy, but once I'm comfortable with someone I could be very outgoing.

S: Well I would also say more shy, until I get to get to know someone.

K: Well I'm done with 20 questions. I know we are no where near 20 questions, but that is one thing you should know is I could be at times short attention span. I just get bored easy. So could we maybe walk and talk or maybe go for a late night swim. I would just need to stay in the shallow end.

S: Why is that?

K: Well the thing is I don't know how to swim.

S: (Chuckles,) Sorry I don't mean to laugh but if you can't swim? Why would you want to go in the water?

K: Well to answer that question, the answer is simple. I love the water. And the reason I haven't learned to swim is because my mom also didn't know how to swim. And other than Max, and Jake I had no one to teach me.

S: Why couldn't either one of them teach you? Surely one of them knew how to swim.

K: Well yes your right they do know how to swim, but they were busy with their sports. And didn't want to be a pain in the rear and ask if they could teach me.

S: okay I get it, but they love you surely they would have put time aside for you.

K: Yeah true but that's the thing I never asked them. I know I could have, but I didn't.

S: Well what if I teach you a bit now? I'm sure your dad and brothers won't mind. We could ask him.

K: No, no that's okay. Maybe another time. I'm hungry, are you hungry? I could make us food.

S: Sure if you want. I'm okay with that.

K: Good let's go back inside.

Karma's POV:

We head inside towards the kitchen. I tell Sven to take a seat. I ask him if he has any requests or if he is allergic to anything. "I'm not picky and I'm not allergic to anything." Sven answered. I know, I know we were supposed to learn things during the 20 questions but I was getting bored of it. I rather get to know someone that I'm going to be spending a lot of time with slow. Not turtle slow. I would like a little mystery in life. Again not full blown mystery, but just enough. I want to keep my blooming relationship to keep and hold the spark. Well anyways back to what I was doing, making food. I pull out all the necessary ingredients and I start making homemade chicken and dumplings. This is Mom's recipe.  She told me she had gotten this recipe from her Grandmother. That this recipe was handed down for generations. Well it starting to smell fantastic in here, and it has drawn a crowd. I would say just about everyone in the house came into the kitchen. Complementing on how good it looks and smells. Even asking if I made extras. I giggle at all of their watering mouths and their hungry eyes. I let them sweat a bit, letting them think I didn't make enough. Cruel I know. Lol. But about ten minutes or so later I tell them that I made plenty.

Jake's POV:

I remember when Karma's mom made this for us. I ate 3 servings. A pig I know. But I'm a growing boy I need the food and energy. I can't wait until it is finished.  Yummm!!

Dad( Leo Sr.)POV:

It smell fantastic in here. As I watch my baby girl move around the kitchen and cook, I get to thinking I never even knew she could cook. We have a chef that does the cooking. But now that I know she could cook, maybe she will do a little more of it. She brings me out of my thoughts and says "Let's eat!"
