"PURPLE LIGHTS"

Loud music was bouncing off the walls at a small house in New Jersey. The red and blue lights were the only lights giving you a way to see in the dark living room, but that didn't help since there was at least a hundred bodies coming in and out of the rooms looking for space. It was a typical party filled with teenagers who probably lied to their parents about going to sleepover at a friends house, but instead are getting blacked out drunk because they're still not used to alcohol.

Alejandro was one of these people, minus the being 'blacked out drunk' part. Instead, he was sitting on a sofa that was moved to be beside glass sliding doors at the back of the house. He sat there with his friends while a couple of girls were constantly flirting with them. While his boys were taking the bait, he played it cool since he wasn't feeling it tonight.

"Aye man, what's up?" Kairi nudged Alejandro, keeping his voice low. "You acting all weird and staying quiet, like these girls are your mom."

"I'm just not feeling it man." Alejandro never felt the same about parties after breaking up with his girlfriend. He knew she'd be at every single one just like him. Looking around, he saw a friend of his from school leaning up against a wall that faced the living room floor with people dancing. People actually dance at parties?, he thought. "Yo, ima be over there." He nodded his head towards his friend by the wall, but his friends weren't really listening.

Heading over by his friend, the music got louder and the lights faded to a dark blue in the living room. As he started talking to his friends, he realized no one at this house looked that familiar. The party was actually hosted by a friend of his in another town, so he didn't know much people here. The dj upfront was controlling the lights, making the room turn to a purple-blue light.

Damn these people really know how to party, Alejandro thought to himself. Looking at everyone dancing, he spotted something, or someone. There was this girl dancing in the middle of the floor with a group of girls, but for some reason she stood out the most. It looked like she was dancing on her own, not giving a damn about everyone else in the room. The purple lights moved around her, reflecting off of her skin.

Am I... in a Euphoria episode?, Alejandro thought to himself.

The girl had stopped dancing was heading towards the keg... which was beside Alejandro. Pushing herself through the crowd she made it the drinks, picking up a cup. Alejandro just stood there, debating whether to say something or not. He wanted to tell her she was a good dancer, but then he'd have to admit he was watching her from afar, and he didn't want to seem like a creep.

"Oh my god its so crowded in here." The girl spoke up. Alejandro started looking around to see who she was talking to. "Why is there so many people here? It's never this packed." She turned her head to Alejandro, giving him a better look at her face. He realized she was talking to him, now was his chance.

"I've never been down here. Hector is a friend of mine." He thought if she knew he was friends with the guy who was throwing the party, he'll seem cool. But that didn't work.

"Oh your friends with Hector? That's my best friend." She smiled at him, then took a sip of her drink. God, that smile. Alejandro couldn't help but admire the girl. She was a bit more tan than the girls he's talked to in the past, but the lights around her made her skin glow even more.

"Hectors a bit of flirt, I bet your boyfriend doesn't like that." If Alejandro was gonna shoot his shot, he needed to know if she was taken or not.

"Oh, I don't have a boyfriend." Ding ding, a bell went off in Alejandros head, this was his chance.

"That's insane, I would've wifed you up already." Alejandro flashed his signature smile. He knew once he brought out the smile, it's game over.

It clearly worked as the girl started to become awkward as she giggled. Her smile wouldn't leave her face as she tried hiding it.

"I'm Alejandro by the way." He stuck his hand out to shake her, mostly to give a reason to hold her hand.

"I'm Be-"

"The cops are here!" Someone shouted in the crowd. Out of nowhere sirens are heard from outside. Everyone started heading for the sliding doors in the back, seeing as there was alcohol everywhere and the smell of weed all throughout the house. Every group of friends became separated as a hundred people started shoving each other before the cops could get in the house.

"Yo, Alejandro! Let's go." Kairi grabbed onto his shirt pulling him with him.

"Wait what about-" Alejandro turned around to take the girl with him, but she was already gone.

"Come on man, your moms gonna kill me if you get arrested. Let's go!" Kairi began pulling him outside, and making a run for it.
