"Thank you, enjoy your movie."

Tonight was busier than usual. The theater was showing Zombieland 2, and I had the night shift with four other people. The only good thing that comes out of this, is that I get to work with Kio. I can't stand my other coworkers, but Kio was actually a really great person to work with. Well that, and I had a bit of a crush on him. But, at this point, he only sees me as the girl who sits in the ticket booth.

"Hey, Lia."

I turned around to see Kio taking his spot next to me in the booth. Thank God for double booths.

"Hey, Kio."

"It's really crazy in there. This lady started screaming at Callie because she busy was refilling the popcorn and didn't have enough to give out." Kio laughed a little, he didn't really like Callie so that's why. As he was talking, he was also giving out tickets. "Enjoy the movie." He nodded, then smiled at the couple who had just bought tickets. I love his smile so much.

"Well, Callie low key deserves it. She can never multitask." No matter how many times I've tried to be cool around him, I end up only saying a couple of words.

Kio laughed as he looked at me. I quickly looked away as I'm still too much of a certified weenie to even make good eye contact with him. Last time I did, my cheeks became flushed and Callie asked out loud if there was something wrong with me. I hate Callie.

Finally, the line of anxious teenagers disappeared and it became slow again, but with the additional customer here and there.

"You know, I actually wanted to see Zombieland tonight." Kio spoke up.

"You don't work tomorrow night, go then." I suggested. I actually was really excited about this movie too, it would be cool if we would together.

"Yeah, I should. I just don't wanna go alone." I looked over to see Kio playing with a hair tie that was around his wrist. "Actually, are you workin-" A knock interrupted him. We both look up to see the she-devil herself.

"Hey, Kio." Hannah said, flirtatiously. Can I die now?

Hannah always comes to the movies every weekend. And, she only comes to flirt with Kio all night. Sometimes, she doesn't even go watch the actual movie. Kio and I go to different schools, but Kio and Hannah go to the same school, so she basically is up his ass all day. But, if I had to give Hannah any props, it's to the fact that she's genuinely really pretty. She doesn't even wear makeup and it angers me. Life is so unfair.

"Oh, hey Hannah." Kio and Hannah started talking about... whatever they were talking about. I tuned them out as I started taking money from customers.

"So, we should go see Zombieland one day. I've been dying to see it." Hannah said... not that I was listening in on their conversation.

"Um, yeah. Sure, someday." Kio said back to Hannah. Great. Just... great.

I know I shouldn't be upset, mostly because I know he'd choose her over me any day. I mean she's pretty and tall, and rich. I'm literally the opposite of that. I was so in my thoughts I didn't even realize she left. It got quiet again, leaving us in silence as well.

"Hannah's... a great girl." I wonder if he can hear my sarcasm.

"Um, yeah. She's really cool." I knew it. I knew he liked her.

"Well, at least your not going to the movies alone. Now that you guys are going together." I really wish I was on popcorn duty right now.

"Huh?" Kio looked confused. I know he's pretty, but not all pretty boys are dumb. So why is he acting like it? "Oh, No. I-I'm not taking her to see the movie. I was actually going to ask-" He stopped midsentence.

"Umm.. yeah?" Kio just stared at me, not saying a word. Now I was confused.

"I was... going to ask you." Kio said it so lowly, but I was able to still hear it.

What. The. Fuck.

"M-Me?" And here comes the blushing cheeks.

"Well, yeah. But if you don't want to, that's oka-"

"NO. I mean-" Oh my god, I really just screamed at him. "sorry. No, I would love to go." Kio smiled again as my cheeks heated up.

"Cool, that's... cool." He looked down smiling as I did the same.

"Cool."
