Saving Grace

Chapter 8

Ben's POV

I want my daughter back. I haven't spoken to Jane since I slept with her. From what I heard she had a daughter, my daughter. Anna left me and the children when she found out I was sleeping around. I was so mad that she left us that I took my anger out on Grace.

I would get really drunk and I wouldn't think straight. It got bad, real bad. I asked Jane to marry me and she turned me down flat so I took that out on Grace. I've finally made up my mind, I'm taking my daughter back.

The only problem is Matthew, he's very protective of his sister. I doubt any of them would leave her alone for a minute. But the moment they do they are going to regret it and they are never going to find her.

Grace's POV

I shot up in my bed. Surprisingly I wasn't screaming but I was crying. "Grace you ok?" Jc asked me rubbing my back. "I'm fine. It must've been a nightmare." I said whipping off the tears. "Alright let's go back to bed before your bother burst in here with his older brother senses tingling." I laughed at Jc's little remark.

When I woke up hours after my nightmare I went out to the kitchen to get some breakfast. "Morning Grace." "Morning Matty. What's the plan for today?" "Um... About that me, Connor, Ricky, and Jc have to go to the station because we have to work today." "Matt, dad is still out there do you really think Sam and Kian will stay around to babysit me?" "No so your going to spending time with mom, Jenna, and Rachel."

I went back to my room where Jc was still sleeping. "Jc! Wake up!" I yanked the blankets off the bed. "What the hell Grace?" Jc said just wear a t-shirt and his boxers. "You have to get up apparently it's your guy's shift at the fire station."

He got up really fast and went to his room to I think get ready. I got dressed and packed an outfit (in media bar) in my book bag with Jc's vlogging camera. "Grace! Mom's here!" "Coming Matt!"

I went out to the living room where Matt was talking to our mom. "You ready to go honey?" She asked me. She was wearing some jeans and shirt and had her phone in her hand. "Yeah mom. By Matt be safe and I'll see you tomorrow right?" "Of course you will. Bye Gracey! Have fun!" He gave me a hug then I went out with my mom to her rental car.

Jenna was sitting in shotgun and Rachel was in the back on her phone, probably talking to Patrick. I got into the car and Jenna spoke up, "Hey Grace you ready for a fun day? I was thinking we can go shopping and get some Starbucks." "Great idea Jenna." I said with a buttload of sarcasm.

It's not that I don't like my sisters-in-laws but I feel like I'm too young to be hanging around them. "Grace honey I hope you don't mind but I've invited Ava to join us so you have someone around your age to talk to." My mom said as we pulled out of the driveway. "Um... Who's Ava again?" "She's your step-sister. Oh Jenna how are you feeling today?" My mom said then directing the conversation over to Jenna. "I'm feeling fine just might be needing some new clothes soon though."

From what I can tell this is going to be a long twenty four hours. We pulled up to the hotel and a girl probably around my age came up to the car. "Hey Anna you ready to go shopping? Who are all these people?" Oh a snotty brat, how fun. "Ava this is Jenna, Rachel, and Grace. Jenna and Rachel are my daughters-in-law and Grace is my daughter." She just rolled her eyes at what my mom said.

She got in the car and made Rachel sit in the middle of the backseat. Rachel elbowed me in the arm, "Rachel! You just elbowed me!" "It's not my fault!" "Yes it is!" "Not it isn't!" "Mom!" "Girls clam down where here." We parked and we got out of the car.

Rachel and Jenna went off to do their own thing and I was stuck with Ava and my mom. We went to a store and Ava was trying on a bunch of clothes so I decided to talk to my mom. "Hey mom." "Yes honey?" She came over to me by the sale rack. "I don't like Ava. She is a snotty brat and she's the reason Rachel elbowed me in the car." "Her mom is very rich and she's is used to getting everything she wants. When she is with James she is like how she is but I can't control it. If I could she wouldn't be like that. Honey how about I get you something?"

When we left the store I had a small bag and Ava had five very large bags. "Why do you need all those clothes? Aren't the ones you have now I don't know maybe work?" "Well Gravel," "it's Grace." "Whatever. Where I come from clothes are everything to us. I don't know where you come from or what's your problem but I don't like you. Anna is my new mom, she left you guys." With that I slapped her.

"My dad was a cheating son of a bitch. That's why she left. She was going to come back for us but life got in the way. I've been through hell since my mom left. Now you can't say shit." "Anna!! Gravel slapped me!" "It's Grace you little bitch!" She rolled her eyes at me. "Grace is this true?" "Yes mom."

Mom got on her phone which I'm guessing she talking to either James, Rachel, or Jenna. "Ava I called your father. Give me your credit cards. Your not aloud to have them for the rest of the time we are out here ok?" "Anna this isn't fair! She is the one that hit me! She's the one who should be punished!" "Ava shut the hell up! Your creating a scene, mom I want to go home to the guys."

"Grace I would love to take you home but I'm following Matt's orders. How about we get some lunch." "Anna I want to go home." "Sorry Ava, your with your father until your mother gets back from her Europe tour with your step-father." She just rolled her eyes.

"Hey Anna over here!" Rachel said waving her hand in the air. "Grace, Ava, what would you guys like for lunch?" "I'll take some In'n'out." I said. "What about you Ava?" "I'm not hungry." "OK then."

"So what happen while we were away." "You don't want to know." We all ate our lunches in silence, well it was pretty silent until Ava started to text. "I'm all shopped out how about we head back to the hotel?" My mom said when she finished her lunch. "Yes please."

I got up and threw my trash away and I picked up my bag and phone. "Hey Grace who are you texting?" Jenna asked me. "Group convo between the convo but right now Sam." Jenna just nodded her head. "Alright lets go to the hotel."

*At the hotel*

We went up to the fifth floor to my mom's room and someone opened the door right before my mom had the chance to put the key in. "Oh thanks JJ for getting the door." JJ looks like a much younger version of his dad, who I meet yesterday. "Your welcome Anna. How was shopping?" Me, Ava, and my mom walked into the room.

"Oh it was good. JJ this is my daughter Grace." Mom pointed at me, "it's a pleasure to meet you Grace." We shook hands and i just nodded my head. I sat my stuff down and pulled out my phone while sitting down on the couch.

ME: so bored w/ mom. save me?

SAMMY!!: im at the same hotel gracey. come over to my room for dinner?

"Hey mom is it ok if I go over to Sam's room for dinner?" She just nodded her head. "His room is next door to the right." I went out into the hallway and knocked on Sam's door. "Hey Gracey. Come on in I just ordered room service."

"Wait room service? I thought you couldn't afford room service?" "Mom's buying. I got pizzas, pop, chips, candy, and cookies." I looked up at my older brother, "Are we having a movie night?" I asked with some excitement. "Yup!" There was a knock on the door. "Let movie night begin."

Sam got us an extra large extra cheese pizza and it was almost gone half way into the first movie. We were on the third or fourth movie when I looked at the time. "Crap! I should probably head back to mom's room." It was well past two in the morning, I didn't want my mom stay awake forever. "Already taken care of." "How?" "While you where in the bathroom during the second movie mom came over and brought your stuff."

"Since my stuff is here I'm going to change into my pajamas." I went into the bathroom and changed into Jc's sweatpants and t-shirt. "Alright Sammy let's continue this movie night." Five minutes of continuing the fourth movie we both fell asleep.
