??? POV

I turn towards one of my scientists, "Turn on the machine."

The scientist nods, typing some things in on the key pad, the machine kick started, a brilliant blue light shooting out from it.

"Alright." I say rolling up my sleeves, not taking my eyes off the machine. "I'll step in for a few minutes then walk out. In that moment turn off the machine. I don't want it overheating." Instructed, walking up the stairs, standing in front of the bright blue light.

I turn my head towards the same scientist, raising my thumb up, a smile forming on my face.

He did the same, nodding.

I walked through the the bright light, into a different world. I looked around confused, he stood in front of a large mansion. A man with a flag as his face, walked out of the house, not seeming to notice me. 'What is this place?' I wondered. I then shook my head, turning around ready to walk back through the portal. 'I'll find out later.' I told myself.

I turned around and walked back through the portal, walking back to my own world. The machine kicked off. "It worked!" I cheered, the rest of the scientists cheered along with me.

Then the machine all of a sudden kicked back on, the floor below beginning to shake. "What's going on!?" I questioned, looking around in alarm, yet all I felt was calmness. Is this how my daughter feels all the time?

"The machine! It's ... it's operating on its own!" A scientist answered.

"What?" I questioned, then the alarms beginning to scream loudly, red flashing filled the room.

"It's over heating sir!"

"Oh no." I mumbled, then the machine exploded. I was knocked back, landing back first onto ... grass? I open my eyes to see blue sky, birds flying across the sky in a V formation.

A shadowed figure blocked my vision, holding out a hand. I took it, and the mysterious person helped me up.

(Y/N) POV

I blink open my eyes feeling an arm wrapped around my waist. I smile softly, turning my head just a little bit to see Soviet resting his head on my shoulder, fast asleep. Or so I thought, "Morning." He grumbled out, opening his maroon eyes.

I smile in reply, then frown in realization. I sat up, grabbing Soviet's face and pointing it upward. Soviet looked at me in alarm, "Um ... is everything ok?"

"Your eyes." I say, looking at them in amazement.

"What about them?" Soviet questioned, sounding a bit alarmed.

"They ... they aren't white." I say. Soviet raised a brow as if I have gone crazy. "Look!" I say, letting go of his face, then reaching over grabbing his phone and putting it on camera mode handing the phone to him. He took it, then looked into the camera, his eyes widening in surprise then he relaxed. "Took it long enough."

"Uh ... huh?" I question, looking at him confused.

"Reich doesn't have white eyes as you probably have noticed, including our fathers." Soviet said.

"Yeah ... and?" I question.

"When a country ... dies I guess you can call it. We gain our eye color to represent we are a "retired" country. Or else everyone will think we are still living countries." Soviet explained, putting his phone back on the table.

"Oh ... that's interesting! I wonder if something triggers in the body or if-" Soviet cut me off as he placed his hand on my forehead pulling me down.
