Soviet's POV
It has been two days now, after the little incident yesterday she has been showing signs of waking every now and then. Whether is it a simple movement or even a small hum from her throat.
I stood in front of the window, watching over her. Everyone has fallen asleep in the chairs, I volunteered to take watch tonight. Yesterday, after they got her stable and was confident it wasn't going to happen any time soon, North took the night watch. Then before that America took the watch. Now it's my turn to do my part.
I have a strong feeling that she is going to wake up today. I want to be there when she does... to apologize to her for being shallow minded.
That look on her face when I said those words, it looked as if I had shot her. And it was later proven that I did, I almost killed her, not Ryder but me!
America is right, it's all my fault she's like this! It's all my d@mn fault! I put her on death row!
I felt tears begin to form, I clenched my hands into a fist. I looked down at my feet, watching water droplets drip down.
And now she is paying for it, she paying for my mistakes! I wouldn't be surprised if she yelled or release Echo on me. I look back up at her unconscious form, but when I did, my eyes widened in surprise.
Her eyes her opened.
(Y/N)'s POV
I blinked open my eyes, flinching at how bright it was in the room. This is definitely different than that pitch black void I was just in.
I tried breathing on my own but noticed something was stuck down my throat. I panicked, grabbing onto the mask and pulling it off, in the process yanking out the tube. It was actually pretty long, once it was out I coughed, gasping for air.
'That felt so weird.' I thought, throwing the mask and tube away from me. I tried to sit up, but the pain in my gut shot me back down.
"Take it easy." I heard a familiar Russian accented voice spoke. I felt hands clasp my shoulders gently, keeping me pinned to the hospital bed.
I look up at a red face, gazing right into his white eyes. "Soviet?" I mumble out, looking at him in shock.
"Are you ok? Do you feel any pain?" Soviet asked, his tone laced with concern.
"O-only if I move." I answered. Soviet pulled his hand away, letting out a small sigh.
"Are ... are the others here?" I asked, looking around.
"They are asleep, just outside. Your cousin said we couldn't come in here till you wake." Soviet informed me, nodding towards the glass.
I glance over to see a couple of figures, sleeping away. "I'm sorry." Soviet said all of a sudden, catching my attention.
"What for?" I asked, cocking my head to the side.
"One for the way I spoke to you." He started, guilt shining in his white eyes.
"You were angry and upset. You felt betrayed I completely understand. In all honesty, I was going to come back after a few days. Wait for you to cool off." I said with a smile.
Soviet looked at me in surprise, "C'mon. Do you really think I would leave Echo behind. Much less my brother's house." I giggled a little then winced in pain as my little giggle shook my stomach, stretching the skin around my wound.
"But ... without my outburst you wouldn't ..." He trailed off, tears beginning to stream down his cheeks.
I ... I was shocked, I have never seen Soviet cry. Much less show weakness in front of anyone. I scooted a little to sit up slightly, ignoring the sharp pain in my side. I then move my legs over a little.
"Hey, hey. It wasn't your fault." I told him, patting to the empty spot I made. He sat down, his back hunched over.
"It was. Don't try to sugar coat it. I have heard enough of it." Soviet grumbled.
I gave him a soft smile, "But it is true. Ryder pulled the trigger, I was the one that pulled the gun towards myself, I was the one that decided to walk out myself, I was the one that dated him, the list goes on." I placed a hand on his shoulder.
He glanced over, looking at me with tears still running down his face. "I still play a part." He mumbled, looking back down towards the ground.
I shrug, "True, but I don't hate you for it. I'm not angry, what has happened, happened. No one can do anything about it. We just have to accept the fact that it has happened and move on." I then retracted my hand away. "Besides, I'm still alive aren't I? Geez you're acting as if I was dead." I added with smug grin.
Then Soviet did something I did not expect, he wrapped his arms around me in an embrace. I could tell he was careful, if he wanted to he could squeeze me to a pulp. He dug his head into the crook of my neck. I felt hot tears dripping onto my neck and shoulder.
"I'm happy you're alive (Y/N)." I heard him say. I let out a sigh, whispering out, "I'm glad I am too." I wrapped my arms around him.
We stayed like that for a few moments before we pulled away, Soviet rubbing away the tears with the back of his hand.
"Have I been out all day?" I wondered, looking around for the clock or at least some sort of device that can show time.
Soviet scratched the back of his head, "Uh yeah ... about that. You've been out for two days."
I whirled to look at him, my eyes as wide as saucers. "What!?" I screamed out in surprise.
"Now that I think about it ... I should probably inform your cousin that you're awake." Soviet said, standing up.
He began to walk towards the door, but stopped, turning back to face me. He smiled, "I'll be right back." He then left closing the door behind him.
I smiled, "It's great to be back." All of a sudden the door slammed open, I jumped which wasn't the greatest feeling as pain flooded into my side, causing my to take my hand to my side out of instinct.
"You're awake!" Am excited voice shouted.
I look up to see France, he had a bright smile on his face. He ran straight over, embracing me in a hug. I winced, "Ow, careful France."
France pulled away quickly, "Whoops. Sorry. But you're really ok!" His face then turned serious, "Do you have any idea how worried I was!? You gave me ... all of us a great scare!" He placed his hands on his hips. "Don't you ever do that again!" He shouted.
'Geez, he sounds like a mom.' I thought with a sweat drop.
"Alright, alright, I get it. I won't do that again I promise." I said, raising my hands up in surrender.
He crossed his arms, his face then fell. He lunged forward, embracing me in a hug once more. "I'm so happy you're ok!" France shouted again, tears streaming down his face.
"France... still have a gun shot wound." I mumbled out, patting his back.
"Oh right! Sorry." He apologized, pulling away from me quickly. Soon everyone followed in, each one of them apologized, shed a few tears, and filled me in what I missed.
Grey and Soviet came in a bit later as we were sharing a few laughs ... which hurt ... a lot.
I was actually glad they came in when they did.
"Alright, tomorrow we will start your tests. Then you can go home." Grey told me.
"Um... shouldn't she be in here longer ... like till she can walk?" South asked, glancing at me a couple of times with a worried look.
"Well unlike most patients she has a doctor that can come to her." Grey told him, gesturing to himself. "Besides she's been through worse."
"No I haven't, I'm not a superhero or anything." I corrected.
"I still count that head injury as the worst." Grey told me, not looking up from his chart.
I rolled my eyes, I didn't bother arguing with him. He's the doctor after all. "Now get some rest. I'll wake you in the morning." Grey ordered, leaving the room.
"I slept for two days! I think I had enough rest!" I called out after him.
He ignored me, closing the door behind him. "He is right, you should get some rest (Y/N)." Soviet said, stepping up to stand next to my bed.
"I'm not even tired." I said with a yawn. Curse the yawn, you should've come later.
"Your yawn says otherwise." Poland said with a small chuckle.
"Get some rest. We'll still be here." America said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I nodded, feeling myself begin to get drowsy.
'I missed them so much. I don't even know what it would be like without them.'
Canada's POV
The bright flash disappeared, a large room which resembled a living room appeared in its place. I look around in confusion at first, then smiled.
"It worked." I said.
"Yeah that's great Canada. But the travel here could've been better." Australia grumbled from behind. I turn around to see everyone on top of one another.
I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. I waited for them to come untangled before saying, "They must've ended up here."
"How do you know? They could've ended somewhere else." Spain asked, looking around in amazement. "This place is huge." He mumbled lowly.
"And even if they were here they could've move on. Going somewhere else or out there exploring the world." Russian Empire added, folding his hands behind his back.
I let out a sigh, they're right. But it's worth a shot to look around. "Let's look around, maybe we'll see signs that they were here." I told them, placing my backpack by the edge of the couch.
"Ok bro, I'll look around here." Aussi said, placing his bag next to mine.
"I'll check the second story." I told them.
"I'll help Aussi." Japan said, dropping his bag making a thump noise.
"I'll help you Canada." Belarus said softly, giving me a small smile.
"Me and Reichtangle will check the third floor." Russian Empire said as Reichtangle nodded in agreement.
"Spain and I will check around the house. Maybe they had to climb out or run through the backyard." China said, gesturing to the night sky.
I nodded, "Alright let's split up. If you find anything, about for someone." Everyone nodded, we then split up to search the house. There was many rooms on the second floor, I checked each one.
Each one showed some forms of life sleeping here, so they could be staying here. But ... with whom. This is someone's house ... or really mansion.
"Ohmygod! No way!" I heard Australia shout. I ran back down stairs with Belarus behind me.
"What is it Aussi!?" I questioned.
"Look what I found!" He exclaimed holding up a white and brown snake. It flicked its tongue in and out before slithering up Aussi's arm. "She's so cute!"
"Well ... one this is for certain. They may have left after seeing this thing." I heard Japan mumble.
"I don't know why they would? This is a Rosy Boa, they aren't really aggressive and she seems very laid back. Plus ... who can be scars by this cute face?" Aussi questioned, gesturing to the snake.
"Any sensible person." Japan retorted, giving Aussi and unamused look.
"So ... they might have left for good. We'll just stay here for tonight. It doesn't look like the owner is coming back soon either." I told them. They nodded in agreement ... well Japan did. Aussi was too busy playing with the snake.
'Don't worry America. I'll find you.'
