Chapter 16

??? POV

I laid down in my bed, looking up at the ceiling thinking of what I want to do, bored out of my mind. "(Y/N)!" Some calls out in a sing song voice. I look over towards the doorway to see a boy around my age with short (h/c) hair, (s/c) skin, and sparkling white eyes. "You remember your promise right?" He asked with a smirk. 

"That we will work together to climb ourselves to the top and fix this terrible world. With you as the leader and me as your right hand man." I said with a monotone voice, placing my head back onto the ground looking up at the ceiling. 

The boy smirked, "That's right sister. Phase one begins now. Come, before our beloved parents come home." He held out his hand to me, a crazed smile on his face. 

I took his hand, letting him pull me up to my feet. I followed him downstairs and into the living room of our home. "Sister, can you get the red paint I made in the basement?" The boy asked, locking his eyes on a preteen Hunter watching a show about a superhero or ... villain? That shot out ice that reaches absolute zero with a girl looking slightly similar to me standing next to him with large golden wings and sapphire blue eyes which were slightly cat like. 

I look back at my brother, "Ok." I then walk past Hunter making my way to the basement. I walked downstairs, ignoring the stench that rose from the basement. I picked up a can of red paint, carrying it up the stairs. 

I walked into the living room to see the boy onto of Hunter who was pinning him to the ground, putting a knife to his neck with a grin on his face. 

"Nova? What are you doing?" I asked, cocking my head to the side slightly, placing the paint down gently. 

The boy looked over at me in shock for a moment before smiling, "Starting out phase one dear sister." 

"But ... he is our brother, our blood. We can't harm him." I say, walking up to him. 

"But sister." Nova countered, "We must climb our way to the top. And he is in our way." Nova growled out the last part, glaring down at Hunter.  

I place my hand on his shoulder, "That's enough brother. He's not our enemy, let's leave him alone." 

Nova bursts into laughter, "You can't be serious?"   He then sits up straight while keeping one hand on Hunter's chest. "He is in our way sister. He will try and stop us from gaining control over this world."

"But he is our sibling, like us two." I said, sliding my hand off of his shoulder. 

Nova scoffed, rolling his eyes, "He is nothing like us sister. He's ... normal, ordinary." He then looked down at Hunter, a smirk forming along his face, "An accessory. He'll only get in our way." 

I pursed my lips, glancing at the pain behind me. "That isn't pain, isn't it." I pointed out, founding the source of the smell from downstairs. 

"How observant sister, I wouldn't expect any less for my future right hand man." Nova praised, looking at me with a warm smile. "I gathered animal blood, just enough to make this look like a little accident." Nova said with a smirk. 

"After all, who would blame an innocent young child killed his older brother?" Nova said, making and innocent look. 

I still looked at him unsure. Nova then rolled his eyes, "Fine, if you don't want to watch just turn around and go into mom and dad's room. I'll come get you once I'm done." 

I glance down at Hunter who was looking up at me with pleading eyes, his trembling form struggled to try and push off Nova. I then look back at Nova who nodded for me to leave. I turn around and began to walk away.
