♦♦Warning: for all Joker/Harley shippers, this might get a bit intense. Y'all should've stopped reading at chapter 56...what? Was I supposed to mention that earlier? Ooops.. Well, since the previous one ended on a cliffhanger, I'm sure you kids just need to read this. I don't take responsibility for y'all emotions though, I'm just forewarning ya. So. Have fun! ...I guess...♦♦

There haven't been many moments in my life that made me feel so useless. I wanted to get up and help Mistah J but right now, I wasn't even able to move a finger. The pain numbed my body and I felt so unbelievably heavy while this awful smoke kept me from breathing in but I couldn't even cough because the stab wound in my stomach hurt too much for me to even think about flexing my muscles.

'Come on, pull yerself tagether, Harl!' I thought to myself as I tried to move my head to the right side to see what was going on. I did hear Batman groan as if he was in a lot of pain, but there was no sign of Joker anywhere - although it was hard to even see an inch far.

What I quickly noticed were steps - slow ones, as if someone was limping, yet they were coming closer. I narrowed my eyes to focus, even though my vision was blurry from the blood loss but I managed to see the shape of a body approaching - about the same height as Joker, but I couldn't tell since the orange smoke was pretty thick and burning in my eyes.

"Puddin'?" Wondering about my raspy voice, I immediately cleared my throat while the man came closer until he stopped only a foot or so in front of me but, due to the smoke, I wasn't able to see his face. It was also odd that he didn't say a word, which made me actually worry. There were only three men up here, Batman was out since he was much bigger and had a cape which would wave in the wind of the heat of the flames all around - which narrowed it down to two men. And since Joker wouldn't just stand there and stare at me, a -what appeared to be - crowbar in his hand, there was only one guy left.

"Well, hello there!" Black Seven said with a surprisingly soft voice and a slight hint of a giggle coming from his throat while he poked my head with the bended claw of the crowbar which was already pretty warm from the hot roof. The sound of his voice sent shivers down my back and made my heart beat faster because I wasn't able to defend myself, like, at all.

"Poor Harleen." He spit blood while he was talking, probably because half of his right cheek was cut off. Yet I couldn't care less about this stupid side-fact.

"Always trusting the wrong people." Black Seven sighed with me shaking in pure horror as he raised the crowbar, pointing the straight claw right at my head. "Stop, Jay, please..." I really tried to maintain a strong voice, but all I could manage were mouthed words.

"But where's your main bae now?" He chuckled and grabbed the crowbar tighter which made me widen my eyes in fear - until I suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Right here to whoop your ass!"

And within a heartbeat, I saw Joker punching Black Seven's temple which threw him off his feet and even further back onto the rooftop. All I heard was a groan and the sound of a dropped crowbar hitting the concrete.

I expected Joker to immediately run after Black Seven, but, much to my surprise, he let himself down on his knees and came close enough with his face to mine for me to look into his green eyes which gave me the feeling of safety. They made me feel like everything would be okay.

"You're gonna be fine." Obviously, Joker had some trouble to speak as well, although his voice sounded much stronger than mine. No wonder, after all, he wasn't injured the way I was - at least not anymore.

Even though I didn't see much of his face, I noticed his hand on my face perfectly fine while he gave me a soft kiss which sent goosebumps down my back - but this time of a whole different reason. How much I wanted to close my eyes and open them to find out that all of this whole stuff that happened here was a nightmare or at least one of Scarecrow's fear toxins. But it wasn't. This was the awful reality.
