Chapter 13

A Killer Is Born

The past month has been peaceful for everyone; Sanaa & Amani were growing fast already getting into everything. Gene & NeNe was so happy with no word from his family; they were currently looking to buy a house close to the family business. They have been living with her sister in their parent's house long enough. She never wanted to leave home, but now NeNe had the best reason why her family.

While NeNe was busy looking for her new house, Kim, Mika, Chuck & Dris were busy planning a party for Joyce & Malachi. They were turning 16 years old and wanted a big party; they never mind partying together because all their friends were the same people. Kim decided to have the party at the young kids Club Dancing, located in North Philly. She figured the kids would love to have it there because they go one Saturday a month with friends from their school. When Kim called the location to ask about February 19th being available for their party, the lady on the other end confirmed it was open. She advised Kim it would be a $150.00 deposit to lock the date in; Kim would then have to pay $200.00 for the event date. Kim then asked the lady what came with the price and what she needed to provide on her own. The woman advised Kim that the Club will provide DJ, ice, soda & water; she could bring food & balloons. Their guess can come in no earlier than 8:30 p.m. and had to be out no later than 12:30 a.m.; because this was a private party, parent would have to come and remain at the location for the entire event. Kim was pleased with all the information this woman gave her; she advised her the deposit would be dropped off in the next two hours. Once Kim ended the call, she called Mika and told her everything the woman said to her. Both women were so excited about their children's party and the fact that Joyce & Malachi was turning 16 years old. They were growing up so fast.

While the children were still in school, Chuck decided to go to Chase school to make sure his son's day was going okay. He had a bad feeling that something was wrong and also followed his first impression. What he didn't know was the feeling was about Joyce; she was in trouble, which was about to change her life forever. Chuck walked into Wagner Middle School and straight to the central office.

"Good Morning Mr. Washington; is there something I can help you with"? said the assistant sitting behind the desk. "Yes, you can I'm here to check on Chase; he had a terrible headache this morning before school, and I just wanted to make sure everything was okay with him" Okay, sir, give me a moment please to call Chase class, please?

As she was calling Chase classroom, a voice came over the walkie-talkie yelling for help in the fire escape on the 2nd floor. The woman picked-up the walkie and asked what was going on. The next response would change Chuck's life forever.

"Listen, Joyce Washington was attacked in the fire escape & she terrible hurt the three boys that attacked her." "We need someone up here right now, she is bleeding, and her clothes were ripped; the boys are all unconscious at the level below her; looks like she kicked them down the stairs."Please send help right now! Yelled the officer."

When the women heard everything, the school officials said she looked back up at Chuck standing there like his world just fell from under his feet. She didn't know what to say to him.

"Where is my fucking daughter at, tell me right fucking now!" said Chuck. "Down the hallway, take the 1st door, it will take you right to her Mr. Washington." Call the fucking police right now."

Chuck ran down the hall, praying that his baby girl was okay; he was thinking about Chase being hurt here and now his daughter. As he opened the door, he saw the three boys lying there not moving; he smiled and stepped over them. As Chuck ran up the steps, the first thing he saw was his daughter lying in the corner, shaking & crying. He said her name before touching her because she had her eyes closed, and Chuck didn't want to scare her.
