Chapter 14 - NOTHING'S WORKING!

~Saturday~

-Eyelyn's POV-

I woke up with the sun shining in my face. Squinting I rubbed my eyes and slid out of bed.

Hearing no noise downstairs I started to worry. I frantically stood up and ran downstairs.

"Guys, Guys!!" I yelled. I could see anyone in the living room or kitchen.

"Hello!!" I yelled again. Then a thought popped into my head. I quickly ran back upstairs and grabbed my phone, opened it up and punched in Lachlan's number.

It rang in my ear a few times before a tired sounding Lachlan answered. "He- hello?"

"Lachlan, where are you?" I whisper-yelled into my phone.

"What do you mean 'where am I', where do you think I am?" he asked sarcastically. I was silent not amused. "I'm in bed." he continued.

"Are you alone?" I asked cautiously.

"What are you on about?"

"Is Vikk with you?" I asked getting inpatient. He's so clueless.

"Oh, no he isn't. We started officially dating like 2 days ago." he spoke though the phone.

I grinned and hung up the phone. I trudged my way across the hall and into Lachlan's room. I didn't even knock on the door, I just opened his door and walked into his room.

He was lying in his bed clearly trying to go back to sleep. Like I was going to let that happen. I walked over to his bed sat down and flopped back so my back was on his legs.

"Aahh." he screamed as his head shot up like a rocket. "Eye, what the hell?!" he yelled.

"Jesus, your curtains are dark." I said as I stood up and walked over to the light switch. I flipped it but nothing happened.

"Huh." I said calmly as I tried flipping it again, still nothing happened.

"What's wrong?" Lachlan said as he got out of bed and walked over to me.

"I think the power's out." I stated.

Suddenly realization hit me like a bullet.

"OH NO!!!" I yelled as I bolted down the stairs, startling Lachlan.

I ran towards the front door. Grabbed the door handle and pulled with all my might but it didn't budge.

"Dammit." I yelled stopping my foot on the ground. Lachlan just now coming downstairs.

"What's wrong now?" he asked.

"That power's out which means we're stuck in here!" I yelled panicking.

"WHAT?!" Lachlan yelled matching my vocal register.

"Yeah, my mum has this lock thing that locks all of the doors in an emergency, it's also solar power." I concluded, starting to pass back and forth.

I trudged over to the couches and flopped down on one of them. Then another thought hit me. Abigail!

"Phone!" I yelled at Lachlan. He just stared at me confused. "Where's my phone?" I continued to yell at him now stood up and staring him in the eyes.

"I don't know!" he yelled back at me. He looked so angry that I was yelling at me.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I turned towards the stairs and saw a tired looking Preston slumped against the door frame.

"Could you guys stop yelling, PLEASE!" Preston yelled.

"Preston!" I yelled quietly, running over to him I firmly placed my hands on his shoulders. "I know you just woke up but we are kinda stuck in the house until the power comes back on."

His face instantly changed from a tired one to a shocked one in a matter of milliseconds.

"Found it!" Lachlan yelled from upstairs. I didn't even notice him slip back upstairs.

I quickly sprinted up the stairs, Preston following close behind me. "What!?" I yelled at Lachlan as soon as I found him.

"Uhhh, your phone" he replied laughing. I'm not in the right mood to laugh at his silly attempt at humor. I snatched my phone from his hands giving him a quick glare before opening my phone and messaging Abigail.

Eyelyn ~ Hey, I'm not going to be able to meet at the coffee shop today because there has been a power cut and I can't leave the house because my mum brought this security thingy. Yeah please don't think I just don't want to come because I so do, I just can't. Sorry Abi.

"whoa, you writing a novel there." Preston joked trying to lean over my shoulder and look at what I was typing. I just elbowed him in the stomach not amused yet again. Preston fell to the ground in pain.

"OWWW!" he yelled up at me from the ground.

"Now that was funny." I laughed. My phone buzzed in my hand, I instantly looked down and began to read.

Abigail ~ Oh, it's fine. I guess I'll see you when I see you then. Don't worry about it 🙂. Oh by the way that nickname game strong, Eye 😉.

Sadness instantly smashing into my face, I could tell she didn't mean that even through text.

Eyelyn ~ Thanks 😉. But there might be a way you can come over?

Abigail ~ That would be great. If it's all right 🙂.

"Guys! Why are you all up at this time!?" Vikk asked from inside his room. Making us all crack up laughing.

"Guys, would you be alright if we had a visitor?" I yelled loud enough for the whole house to hear.

I heard a lot of 'yeahs' and that was good enough for me so I messaged her back.

Eyelyn ~ Yep it's all good our address is !@# $%^&%$ #@#$%^(. Come when ever 🙂.

Abigail ~ Thanks 🙂. I'll be over at around 11, K?

Eyelyn ~ Yep sounds good 🙂.

All of a sudden someones phone buzzed in the distance.

"Phone!" I yelled, everyone immediately scattering like mice to go fetch their phones.

"It was mine." Lachlan yelled from his room. I nodded like he could see and walked down stairs to eat what I could which was cereal.

Sitting at the bench eating my cereal scrolling through Twitter (A/N #ad. JK 😂😅.) peacefully until I heard Lachlan yell my name.

"Yeah" I yelled in the direction of upstairs with my eyes still focused on my phone.

"What did you DO!" He yelled as he walked down the stairs.

I turned around on the stool to face him. "Whats got your knickers in a twist?" I questioned. He didn't respond all he did was shove his phone in my face and all I could do was read.

????? ~ Hey, Eyelyn gave me your number and said she could introduce me to you. So maybe we could catch up today? (A/N Who can guess who it was? 🤨)

I was in shock but I thought about who it could be and then it clicked. "I think I know who it is." I answered his question that he didn't ask.

"Who?"
