John was still as silent as ever as he stared out at the endless black ocean in front of him.

Ringo's alter ego sighed once again as his gaze landed on the guitarist.

"Ey, John?"

No response.

"You've been sitting there for hours now... Has eveythin' been alright?"

At first, John was completely silent.

Ringo's alter ego watched as the grey Beatle slowly turned his head to look at him, no hint of emotion on his face or in his eyes.

"Is e-everythin' alright?" John repeated in a cold, quiet voice.

"Does it look like everything's alright?"

Ringo's alter ego did not respond, instead staring at John as if he was seeing him for the very first time.

He sighed and took the winged hat off of his head, holding it with both of his hands.

"Okay... I know that... you don't feel very well after what happened with... P-Paul..."

He gulped.

"And Jeremy..."

John shifted his position so that he could face Ringo's alter ego. He did not frown, nor did he glare.

"I shouldn't have been so... angry at him," the guitarist stated slowly, "he was just as scared and confused as the rest of us..."

A few feet away from him, the two remaining blue meanies both looked at each other, not knowing if they should say anything.

"It's j-just that... Paul..."

John paused, closing his eyes.

"He w-was... special."

Ringo's alter ego held his hat in one of his hands as his other scratched the back of his head.

He was growing nervous.

"You know?" John started, opening his eyes, "I've never really spoke to you before. Tell me... do you know how it feels to lose someone you care about?"

"U-uh..." Ringo's alter ego stuttered, motioning all around him.

"Of course. Just look at what's become of Pepperland now. We're all trapped in this area. A-and we will be..."

He paused, taking a moment to survey the liquid that surrounded them in the distance.

"U-until we e-either become that ourselves, or Randel... g-goes with that thing. But, you know as well as I that he won't do that. He doesn't want to hurt us."

John breathed out through his nose.

"It's better... that he doesn't."

He sighed.

"After all... I'm already living in pain right now..."

Ringo's alter ego stepped back as John got up on his feet.

"Uh... what are you-"

"Nothing."

Without another word, John walked over to what remained of Paul and Jeremy, staring down at the two black puddles.

He sat in front of the larger once, looking down at his faint reflection.

"To think that Paul became this goo..."

The two blue meanies stepped forward, both looking nervous.

"J-John..." one of them said, "what are you doing?"

John let a single tear roll down his cheek.

"Just... staring at what the love of my life has become..." He replied, his voice just as raw and cold as before.

Ringo's alter ego put his winged hat back on his head, stepping towards the Beatle who had his back to him.

"You're not g-going to... do anything, are you?"

John was silent for a moment, thinking.

"No..." He said.

"At least... not now."

Everyone's eyes shot open.

"J-John?" Ringo's alter ego asked.

"Please... just go away."

"But I don't want-"

"Just leave me alone."

"John-"

"What did I say!?"

Several dozen feet away, hiding behind the bandstand, the creature chuckled softly as it listened to the continuing argument.

"Oh, they're falling apart. Just as I like it."

Silently, it floated through the air, stopping right beside the bandstand's window.

It didn't look inside, but it could already hear the voices.

"They're seriously at it again?" It asked itself, quiet enough not to be heard by anyone.

"O-oh Ringo..."

The creature visibly shook, closing its eyes in disgust at Randel's voice.

"Whatever. They said that they weren't going that far anyway. They're just kissing each other again and..."

It sighed.

"Ringo leaving hickeys..."

It chuckled.

"And Randel says that he's strong. Yet, he cant go one day without that Beatle, can he?"

An idea started to form in its head.

"Hmm... No, I'll do that when the right time comes..."

Grinning widely, the creature moved in front of the unglazed window.

"For now... I think I'll just pay the both of them a visit."
