Ringo was not surprised when Randel rested his head on his shoulder when he sat down next to him, nor did he mind the arm that wrapped around him.
John, Paul, and George all sat across from them, clearing out any stray instruments on the bandstand's floor.
Randel's gaze focused on the three Beatles, wonder what they were going to do.
After a moment, Paul opened his mouth.
"I uh... I can't imagine how scary it... Must have been for the both of you..." He said, voice going quiet.
Ringo sighed, shivering slightly.
"Yeah, well... It might have been just as scary turning into that black stuff from the inside out... I don't think I'll ever forget that."
Paul scratched the back of his head nervously, John biting his lip at the memory.
George looked around for a moment before talking.
"So... Randel, how did... How did you-"
"I... I was on the brink of death before... It pretty much destroyed itself."
"What do you mean by that?" George asked, all Beatles now staring at Randel.
"When that... Liquid tried to... Consume me or decompose me or do whatever it does, I..."
Randel paused.
"Y-You all remember... When I died last year?"
All four Beatles nodded slowly.
"Well... I... B-began to go through that p-process again..."
Randel clenched his teeth.
"It hurt s-so much... But... It couldn't finish, because I wasn't dead... So... I just layed on the ground... That creature made the liquid move so that I could even have the place to do it."
"A-and the what happened?" John asked.
"It... It reached its hand out to t-touch one of the rays and... T-there was this white flash. It pulled back, but its hand was entirely white and... White light shot out from it and hit it in its chest."
Randel paused to take in a breath.
"It... It just coulee up into a ball as an orb of that light surrounded it and... Another white flash and a scream, and then it was gone."
Paul raised an eyebrow.
"Wait... You were out in the field, so..."
The realization made him, John, and George all take in a small breath.
"What... How did you even get there?"
At Paul's question, Randel shivered and closed his eyes.
"I... W-was on top o-of the bandstand b-because it created a large w-wave to... Y-you know, but... B-but Ringo..."
He shivered, tears starting to form in his eyes.
"I... I d-don't want t-to talk about it..."
Randel buried his head in Ringo's shoulder, sniffling as the drummer patted his head.
"I... I didn't make it up in time..." Ringo stated quietly.
John, Paul, and Grorge were all silent.
For a moment, not a word was said.
John slowly turned his head to stare at George and Paul, who were sitting at his sides.
An idea began to form in his head.
Slowly, he took in a deep breath and breathed out, staring at Randel.
"Well... Lads, I think I speak for all of us when I say..."
He paused, and Randel slowly lifted his head up to stare at him, tears trickling down his cheeks.
"I think we just found ourselves a fifth Beatle."
Randel lifted his head off of Ringo, eyes going wide.
"W-what?"
"Yeah," Paul said, now starting to smile, "you more than deserve to become one after all you did for us, Randel."
George smiled a little as well.
"I would be more than glad to have you as a part of our band."
Randel slowly took his arm off of Ringo, raising it to his face to wipe some tears away.
"Why... I d-don't know what to say."
Ringo put an arm around him, smiling as well.
"Well, looks like we're a group of five."
Randel blushes lightly when his gaze landed on the same red drum that he had played some time ago.
"A-actually, I was... Becoming c-curious about playing meself."
He briefly pointed at the drum before pulling his head back, blush growing.
"Ah, why are you blushing?" Ringo asked.
Randel giggled nervously.
"I... I don't know, just... Um."
"No need to worry about that, Randel. We all understand," John stated.
"Yeah. From this day forward, The Beatles shall be a group of five instead of four," Paul declared.
"I couldn't agree more," George responded.
Ringo smiled as Randel giggled again, blush staying on his face.
"I'm honored," Randel stated.
"We are all honored as well, aren't we lads?" Ringo asked, addressing John, Paul, and George.
"We sure are," John answered.
The tears stopped, sliding down Randel's cheeks as he began to laugh.
"Well, I can't wait to perform," he stated happily as he continued to laugh.
The five Beatles all began to laugh together, all worries now nonexistent.
