Ringo continued to stare off into the sky, not focusing on anything in particular as his mind went over the events that had transpired hours earlier.
John, Paul, and George were all gone now, and only he was left.
That fact alone made Ringo go into a state of shock, and he could do nothing but think about it.
Even Randel could tell that he didn't want to talk, even though he was sitting a few feet away.
Ringo's alter ego had gone off to check on the apple that they had set out a while earlier to make sure if the liquid was rising or not, and Randel still didn't know what he would do if it was.
He turned his gaze away from Ringo and stared at the last two blue meanies, both of whom were shivering while holding each other.
Randel couldn't think about what he could say.
He wanted to talk to Ringo, but he knew that he needed time, even if Ringo didn't tell him himself.
A sigh escaped his lips as he laid back on the ground, staring up at the blue sky.
"What do we do now?"
Randel rolled over onto his side, seeing that the Beatle was still staring up blankly.
He wanted to go to him.
He needed to go to him.
But...
Randel shook his head.
Since when had it been so hard to do the simplest of things?
It would just be a small action. Nothing more.
But, Randel still felt nervous. Ringo still probably wanted to be alone, but the urge to comfort him ate away at his mind.
Eventually, Randel sighed, getting up on his feet.
Slowly and silently, he walked towards Ringo, who didn't seem to notice him.
He sat down next to the remaining Beatle and laid down, a light blush appearing on his cheeks as he tried to ignore the awkwardness of the situation.
Randel rolled onto his side and placed his head on Ringo's chest, which snapped the drummer out of his trance.
Ringo blinked, looking down at Randel as his mind regained stability.
Slowly, he raised his hand and placed it on his head, not saying a word.
Randel closed his eyes, basking in the moment.
For a while, the pair stayed like that.
It wasn't until Ringo's alter ego walked up to them that they both looked up.
"I... T-there's something... v-very important that I need to tell you all..."
The two blue meanies turned their heads towards him, both still shaking as they waited.
"It... it's r-rising... fast."
A blue meanie gasped while the other shook his head.
"H-how fast?" One of them asked.
"The apple... was half covered in it..."
Ringo's alter ego put his hands behind his back.
"We... we need to try to kill its soul soon... otherwise..."
He trailed off, not wanting to continue.
Randel shook.
"I... I d-don't know how to do it... and..."
He took in a breath.
"It's l-like its... its trying to p-push me to... t-to..."
Ringo patted his head.
"L-let's not think about that right now..."
For a moment, all was silent, except the sound of waves crashing down in the distance.
Ringo's alter ego eventually sighed and looked down at the pair, taking the winged hat off of his head and holding it in his hand.
"I uh... To be honest... I wish that I got to... spend time with you two... before this happened."
Ringo looked up at him.
"It's alright. We never really thought about it either..."
"Actually..."
Ringo's alter ego paused, taking in a breath.
"I have never seen two people love each other as much as you two. And... I've been in Pepperland all me life. I've seen love and I know it like the back of me hand, but... you two are unique."
Randel's light blush grew.
"U-um... thanks," he said quietly.
"Welcome..."
The two blue meanies looked at each other for a moment, their shivering slowing to a stop.
"At least..." one of them started.
"At least we all have each other... right?"
"Yeah..." Ringo's alter ego responded, sitting down.
Randel wrapped an arm around Ringo as he felt his hand pat his head again.
"So... what are we going to do now?" He asked.
Ringo sighed.
"Just... Just be with each other, for now, and... we'll all think of something we can do to... destroy its soul..."
He bit his lip.
"If o-only Jeremy were still here..."
