Randel glared at the creature that floated in front of him, staying silent for a moment.

"Tell me... Who do you think you are?"

The creature tilted its head.

"What?"

"You heard me," Randel responded, distorted voice cold.

"Who do you think you are?"

The creature glared back.

"Me? Well, a being that can easily do whatever it wants and take control of anything."

Randel shook his head.

"No. You are a demon."

The creature floated back a little, surprised.

"Yes, you may have just been a product of that failed potion that Jeremy made, but you act like one. We were just created together. Now..."

Randel gritted his teeth.

"I may not know what you truly are. A demon. A spirit. Maybe even a representation of who I was meant to be, but, I don't care about that."

He stepped forward, colour fading just a little.

"Do you know how it feels to have everything ripped away from you? To watch as your loved ones slowly get picked off one by one, until t-the one who c-cared about the most..."

Randel closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath.

"I-is taken as well?"

He turned his head up again, glaring at the creature, who just stared back with a surprised expression.

More of Randel's colour faded.

"No. Of course you don't. You don't care about anything. You just want to have complete control, don't you?"

"I..."

The creature shook its head.

"What are you getting at?"

Randel squinted his eyes, tears still flowing down from them.

"I'm saying..."

He took in a deep breath, colour halfway faded.

"Who I was meant to be... Is n-not who I'm supposed to be..."

He paused.

"And I'll never be someone who hurts others for his own enjoyment..."

He smiled.

"I know that he'll be proud."

For a moment, both were silent, Randel's colour staying in its half faded state.

Eventually the creature opened its mouth.

"You... You really are far gone, aren't you?"

"According to you, yes. But, lets get one thing straight."

Randel stepped forward, glaring at the creature with wide eyes.

"I'm not scared of you now. In fact, I'm not even scared about becoming another victim of... whatever this stuff is."

Randel looked down for a moment, staring at the black liquid that was up to his chest.

He could still feel his body.

"I've already died once before. I'm not afraid to do so again..."

He turned his head up.

"So... what do you have to say for yourself?"

Silence.

Just silence.

"Come on. I know that you have something to say."

Randel waited.

The creature slowly floated towards him again, glaring at him.

"I must say, you certainly are quite the interesting person. But..."

He reached out its hand.

"I'm still willing to-"

"You really think that I'm going to do that?"

Randel squinted his eyes.

"Besides. Not like I can get my hands out of this now. It was hard enough to get them out on the hill."

The creature moved its hand back, frowning.

"Alright then..."

It grinned.

"But... I do look forward to watching you sink down into that."

Randel took in deep breaths, anger coming to a boil as his colour stayed in its state.

"What are you going to do after this?"

"Huh?"

"Did I stutter? What are you going to do after this? Are you just going to play around this wasteland of yours, or are you going to make this spread beyond where Pepperland used to be?"

Randel clenched his teeth, glaring at the creature as tears streamed from his eyes.

His colour faded a little again, now almost entirely gone.

"What? Have no plans?"

No response.

"You didn't think about me not joining you, did you?"

The creature opened its mouth.

"I did. But, I just thought that if you didn't join me that you would have been taken by this liquid sooner. I didn't think that you'd be the last person left."

"Oh, so you didn't think that I had the courage, did you?"

"Ay, you lost all of your faith up there, on the bandstand."

Randel breathed in.

"You don't know what it feels like to watch as a loved one dies in front of you."

"Okay, so I don't. But the fact still stands that you could lose it so easily."

"If that's the case, then why have I last this long?"

Randel smiled, still glaring.

"I just wanted to let you know just how messed up you are. I may not know what kind of entity you are, but I know how messed up you are."

Randel took in a breath.

"So... I'm ready now. I'll stop fighting it."

He smiled, glaring as tears continued to stream from his eyes.

"Have anything else you want to say to me?"

The creature floated back a bit, crossing its arms.

"So be it then..."

Randel slowly lowered his head down, closing his eyes.

The last of his colour faded away.
