i find the word leaving my mouth before i recognize my own voice.

jaehyun turns to look as me and he pauses.

i run up to him and stare into his eyes.

"is that why you avoided me?"

i say, and his expression stays neutral.

he couldn't even react in this moment.

it was as if he had no soul and existed to only listen.

"i didn't avoid you because i wanted to."

he admits, his gaze burning into mine.

i stay silent for a minute before i speak again.

"what do you mean?"

i couldn't hear it myself clearly but i could tell my voice was breaking softly.

"you told me to leave you alone that night. you said you had a boyfriend and didn't need me to cling onto you."

his response left you more speechless than you had been before.

to know that you were the one to say these things to him were a shock.

"i didn't mean them. i was drunk."

i defend.

jaehyun stuffs his hands into his black jean pockets and bites his lips.

"regardless, you have a boyfriend."

he says and walks away, but this time i don't stop him.
