Choices

Inuyasha and Kagome had once again got into a fight, about Koga. Kagome had returned to her time, leaving us with a sulking Inuyasha. Later that day, I saw Inuyasha rush out of Kaede's hut and make his way to the well, and I followed him. "What did I do that was wrong, anyway?" I heard him ask. I saw his ears fall as he kept staring into the well. The wind then picked up and I looked up seeing a giant red demon thing.

I made a fireball in my hand seeing that it was a giant soul collector, but stopped hearing Kikyo's name. I turned seeing Kikyo in Inuyasha's arms. I also saw Naraku's insects, and Inuyasha was getting chased by the giant red soul collector.

I quietly followed, watching him protect her from the demon, and killing the soul collector. Kikyo's own soul collectors gave her souls to keep her alive.

It turned dark and I watched silently, I was close enough to hear the 2 of them talking, Inuyasha was so focused on her, he didn't even know I was here. A little while after, I heard footsteps and turned seeing Kagome had arrived. I turned back to Inuyasha and Kikyo, "I swear, I won't let Naraku have you either! Only I can protect you from him!" Inuyasha said and hugged Kikyo.

"Let me go!" Kikyo resisted, but eventually began hugging him in return.

I rolled my eyes, "Still the same, even after 50 years." I mumbled. Kikyo then flew away, and Kagome made herself known to Inuyasha.

"Kagome." Inuyasha said and she ran off.

I watched her run away and hopped down from the branch I was watching from. "(Y/n)." He called out to me and I turned to him.

"You don't have to explain." I said leaning against the tree. I stared at the path Kagome ran down then glanced up at the sky. "You prefer human, over demon. Can't blame you for that." I said not looking at him, and walking down the path Kagome took.

Morning came, Inuyasha didn't come back that night. I waited by the well, and Kagome came running. "Leaving already?" I asked and she stopped seeing me.

"Y-yeah, lots of work to do back home." She said and I smiled looking at the ground. 

".. he cares about you." I said and walked away.

Back at the hut, everyone was talking about Kagome and Inuyasha, and I couldn't bring myself to be included in that. I sat on a hill, overlooking the village below. I crossed my legs and close my eyes, thinking. "Falling in love with a half demon.. ridiculous.." I scolded myself and opened my eyes seeing the clouds roll by. I heard a soft mew and turned seeing it was Kirara. I held y hand out and she hopped into my hand.

She rubbed her face against my palm. "Didn't expect you to be the one to come find me." I said petting her softly. "You think its stupid too, don't you?" I asked, "Falling in love with a half demon..." I muttered and she pressed her head against my cheek. "You should go back, they're going to be worried about you if they find you missing." I said putting her back down. "I'll go back later." I said and she mewed again and ran off.
