Elise ran down the hall, at least that's how it felt to her.  In reality she moved no faster then a snail.  She hoped she would have enough time to find a vid screen so she can call Devon.

She made it to the front lobby and the alarm had not gone off "keep going old woman!  Don't stop, just get out!" the voice in Elise's head was screamin at her.  Elise had learned a long time ago to always listen to her inner voice.  Her Mother use to tell her it was her angel talking to her and they were always right.  Devon was similar to her except she did not have a voice instead the hairs on her arms would act as her warning system.  It seemed that all the women in their family had an ability to tell when there was danger.

Elise listened to her voice and made her way towards the front door, then she stopped.  She had no way to get past the security window without them seeing her.  She stood uncertain what to do when a hand touched her shoulder.  Elise started and held her breath, "hello old woman!  Where are you going in such a hurry?  Come to think of it, I haven't seen you out of your room for a long time, so what's up?"  Julie moved around to the front of her friend and waited for an answer "Julie!  I need your help!" whispered the oldest woman in North America, "what, what's going on?"  Julie whispered back "you know I love mysteries so let's have it."  Julie was a lovely sixty year old woman whose family forced her into the Facility.  They had hoped she would have died at the proper time and viewed her longevity on her stubborness.  She was not prepared to go lightly and was always getting in some sort of trouble.  "It's the only thing I can do to make this joint more fun"  she said this everytime a guard scolded her.

Elise told her what they were doing to her thgen what she did to the boy guarding her room.  Julie broke out into a lot of laughter.  "Oh my lord Elise, I just love you!" she gasped "okay, so now what can I do to help you and where do you want to go?"  "I need to get out of here"  Elise continued to whisper "and I need a micro vid screen, do you have one?"  "No my friend I do not BUT I can get you one.  Here sit on this chair and I'll give you one of our didiculours news letters to read.  You hold it up, in front of your face, no one will even look at you."  She handed her friend a massive paper called "Facility 1A News."  It started off as a simple article about how great the Facility was but the residents wanted to contribute and it quadrupled i size.  It was approximately three feet long by two feet wide and could be used to easily hide someone from plain view.

Elise was nervous and her secret voice started to yell at her again.  She just could not wait any longer and set her paperdown.  Just as she got up from the chair Julie came bounding around the corner.  "Here", she placed a micro vid screen in her hand, "take this and here is some money, you are going to need it."  "But how did you get this ?" asked wide eyed Elise.  Her friend started to laugh, "Well that's my business but all I can say is Ralph is going to be pissed off when he wakes up.  Now I took longer than I should have and you need to get out of here quickly.  The guards should be changing any minute that's our best time to get out."  Julie didn't giver her friend a chance to protest the 'we' part of that statement.  She grabbed her arm and started to walk towards the door.

"Julie, I can't ..." whispered Elise but the excited woman quickly shushed her.  They were just about to step in front of the guard when Julie told the other woman to keep her head down as if "were studying her feet.  "Hey Johnnie , how are things going in the high security communiity these days? "  she waived her hand behind her back to motion Elise forward.  "What do you want this time old lady?" the guards eyes twinkled with amusement.  He knew that when Julie was around something funny was about to happen.  She kept this place from becoming too boring and besides he liked the old broad, "Oh nothing much except I am going to make the ferfect disappearing act you guys have seen since the last time I tried."  The guard laughed and replied "oh yes, I remember that! You got stuck in ther ..."Clang clang clang clang the alarms suddenly came alive.  Jonnies vid screen went off and Julie could hear a voice command aall of the guards get to the area near Elise's roomn.  "Oh oh looks like they found you out!" Julie whispered to her friend who now had her hand on the door handle.  "now's the time to run!" yelled Julie "let's get the hell out of here!"   She pushed the door open and pratically lifted Elise off of her feet and carried her down the front steps.
