Derek's POV

The truth was, I was a bit worried about Reid. He was not usually upset for this long. I knew that he had nightmares, but I didn't think that hey would upset him so much. He had a problem with nightmares a couple of years ago but after Gideon had talked to him, he didn't seem to have much of a problem with them anymore. Reid had always gotten very upset if anyone else brought up Maeve and didn't like to say her name but there was a different tone in his voice last night when he talked about her. I thought.

I didn't want anyone, especially Reid, to think that I wasn't focused on work so I only watched Reid from a distance to make sure he was okay. The last thing this the team needed was two agents not working their hardest on the task at hand. I mean, why else would I try my hardest to be on top of everything and still take care of my friends?

"Hey, guys. The sheriff wants us to start patrolling the park now," Hotch announced.

We all get up and start to head out. Well, everyone except for Reid. I look around and I realized that he fell asleep at the round table. I smiled a little bit. He was weird. I walked over to him and I whispered in his ear,

   "Pretty Boy, wake up."

He woke with a start. He rubbed his eyes and looked up at me.

"Sorry, did I fall asleep?" He asked.

"Obviously," I replied. "Come on, we have to leave. Hotch said it's time to patrol the park. Our unsub is probably getting off work by now."

"Oh, yes. Of course," He said getting up and grabbing his bag.

We left the department and we headed for the park. While we were driving all I could think about was how Reid was acting. I had been getting concerned about him lately. I didn't like it when he was upset, especially because he was younger than me. He didn't necessarily know how to take care of himself and because he was so intellectual and less emotional it was hard for him to handle a loss. I looked over at him. I knew how dedicated he was to this team. We had been on this team together for a long time, so I knew him the best. He would never want to let on that there was something that was keeping him from working.

Once we pulled into the parking lot I hesitated before I got out of the SUV. I turned to Reid and I said,

"Reid, you can tell me anything and I promise I won't say anything to the team about it. I know you want to keep all of this private and I respect that. But just promise me that you won't keep all of this locked up inside of you. I don't want you to feel like you have no one to talk to."

He looked at me. I could tell that made him feel better. He smiled slightly and said,

   "Thanks, Derek."

We both got out of the SUV and met up with the others.

"Okay, this park is pretty big so we are going to have to split up. If our unsub thinks that we are here to catch her then she won't come or she will leave. So act like you are here under normal circumstances. Distract yourself from looking suspicious but pay attention. Our unsub is most likely here," Hotch said. "Okay, Morgan and JJ take the east side of the park. Blake, go with Reid to the west side. I will take the south entrance and Rossi, take the north."
