"Oh my gosh, you made me Jello!" He exclaimed.
I smiled at his happy face. I made the jello for him, the night before.
"I made this for you, knowing that I was going to bring you here today. I had no idea that you were going to be at the cafe. If you hadn't been there I was going to call and pick you up," I said to him as he held the Jello in his hand as if it was pure gold.
"Aw, thank you."
His lips curved into a soft smile, which I loved. I put my finger on his chin so that he was looking me straight in the eyes. I leaned forward and put my lips over his, wanting to hold him close to me. As soon as our lips touched, Reid's eyes widened, he obviously hadn't expected me to kiss him. I put my arms around his waist, keeping him close to me as I continued to kiss him. He pressed himself on me, still holding the Jello I made. I pulled one of arms out from behind his back and I grabbed the Jello, putting it on the counter. When I did so, he hesitantly put his arms around my neck.
When I finally managed to pull away, Reid bit his lip, glancing at me. There was no way that he didn't feel nervous about that. But, I didn't mind.
"Sorry, you can eat your Jello now," I said, I couldn't help but laugh at the face he made at me.
"Don't apologize, it's okay. I don't mind."
I was surprised at his response, I had thought that he would've been upset or uncomfortable.
"Well then, you better hurry up and eat your Jello so I can continue."
"You're making me not want to eat it..." He said, squinting his eyes at me.
"Just eat it or I did all of that work for nothing," I replied, turning around to get him a spoon.
I handed Reid the spoon and I smirked at him.
"Thank you, for this. It means a lot," He said, a soft smile appearing on his face.
"Well, don't think that you're eating alone, Pretty Boy. I made more than one cup."
I got out another spoon and I lead him over to the kitchen table. We sat down and ate our Jello. For a moment, things seemed good, better than they had been before. I liked it when Reid was close to me. It was as if I could protect him and keep him safe. As if he needed it. I kept my eyes on the smile that rested on his lips as he ate his Jello. As I slowly took a bite of the Jello I had made, I couldn't help but stare at Reid's lips. I touched my own, a little bit surprised at myself for taking initiative and kissing him. Of course, I was used to taking initiative, but I hadn't thought that I would with Reid, at least not before he confessed.
"Derek, you're staring at me. Is something wrong?" He asked after a moment of me looking at him.
I put my spoon down.
"Sorry, I can't help it," I replied, smoothly. "I haven't seen you in a little bit."
"That's my fault, I meant to say something, but I never did."
"It's okay, I'm not worried about it. I knew I was going to see you today anyway."
He gave me a strange look.
"What, are you stalking me?" He asked.
"No, I planned to go to your place. This whole thing was supposed to be a surprise, but then I bumped into you at the cafe. Which was kind of ironic because I was there so I could buy you coffee."
