Warnings: panic attack, suicide mention, suicide note, knife, cutting mentions

Thomas looked around the mind to make sure everyone was asleep. Virgil had mentioned something about being out in the subconscious at a party with Remy, so now was the perfect time to snoop around in the anxious side's room. Virgil rarely left his room, and Thomas wanted to see what was in there that kept him busy for so long. He felt a little bad for trying to snoop, but his curiosity won out.

He quickly sank out into Virgil's room before he could change his mind. Immediately he felt the air shift, getting colder and damper. He shivered as a chill went down his spine. His senses were heightened, fear creeping in. He had only gone to Virgil's room once before, and that was during the Accepting Anxiety video, but he understood his reactions to being in his Virgil's room to be normal considering that it was the manifestation of anxiety's room. He looked around. It wasn't too different from his room, although it was significantly darker and colder and there were spiderwebs in the corners. The bed was in the usual spot it was in for all of the sides and had dark purple blankets neatly tucked in. Strange. He'd think Virgil wouldn't care enough to make his bed.

He continued looking around. The walls were littered with Disney villain posters along with his Nightmare Before Christmas posters. There were three doors: one leading out of the room into the mindscape which was hardly ever used do to the more popular option of teleportation, one leading to his closet, and one leading to his personal bathroom, all closed. There was a nightstand next to the bed and a dresser on the far wall. Thomas tiptoed to the nightstand and looked at its contents.

There was a little sketchbook and art supplies neatly organized on it. A mug with a dark liquid that had long cooled sat on a coaster. There were a few specs and floaties in it, making Thomas wrinkle his nose. In the far corner of the nightstand in front of a little lamp was a picture frame with a picture in it. It was of Thomas and Virgil. They were hugging and Thomas was kissing a blushing Virgil's cheek, who was shyly pushing Thomas away. Thomas smiled softly as he recalled the memory. It was Virgil's first Christmas as a light side. Patton had insisted they all take a famILY photo, but Virgil had been against the idea, so Thomas had suggested just the two of them taking a picture together, the host representing all of the sides. Virgil had been hesitant about it, but had agreed. That was the first time he had seen Virgil be openly happy.

Thomas gently picked up the picture and stared at it. It was the only framed picture in the room- even his prized posters were just taped or tacked onto the walls. It seemed that he really liked that picture. Thomas had been fighting a blush the entire day after taking it and Roman had questioned him about his little (huge) crush on the emo side, saying that it was throwing him off. Logan had given him a lecture about how Virgil was a side, and therefore they couldn't be together. Thomas frowned. He didn't want to have to repress his feelings for Virgil. He wanted to take him far away and cuddle him and shower him with kisses.

Thomas tore his gaze away from the picture and set it back down in its spot. He continued to poke around until he spotted something shining in the one beam that found it's way past the ruffles of the dark purple curtains. He looked over to see a mess of papers and a piece of metal sticking up from under them in one of the open drawers. He carefully made his way over and rummaged through the cluttered papers, pulling out the shiny object. His blood went cold as he saw what it was.

     A knife.

It was stained red along the edge, showing that it had been used in the past. He dropped it and clasped his hands over his mouth. He picked up a paper and read through the neat writing on it.
