Warnings: slight angst (it's barely there though), sympathetic Deceit, sympathetic Remus, Remus being Remus, nondiscriptive brief mentions of sexual actions

Patton shook his head in disbelief, tears in his eyes. He couldn't believe that his boyfriend would do something like this. Here Patton was holding a Valentine's day heart only to walk in on his supposed boyfriend making out with a girl. What was worse than lying about loving him, he had lied about being gay. Too many times had boys pretended to be gay and in love with him just to turn around and slap him in the face, saying it was just a joke.

Patton ran, the boy in the other room not even noticing him as he fled, box of chocolates abandoned on the floor. The baby blue clad man ran as fast as his legs could carry him, sobs wracking his body as tears trailed down his cheeks from his puffy red eyes. He ran and ran. To where? He didn't know. He just had to get as far away as possible. He saw a door and flung it opened. Turns out it was the door to the bathroom. He stopped and gripped the edge of the sink and let his tears fall into the sink as he began to hyperventilate. As he got his breathing under control and turned around, he saw three figures he hadn't noticed when he had burst through the door. They were all frozen in shock in very...umm...intimate stances. They were the power trio in the school and all had their own titles given by their fans and enemies. Remus, who had been labeled as 'the Duke' of the school and had a dark sense of humor and was known for making squeamish people pass out; Virgil, titled as 'Anxiety' due to his reputation for knowing a person's deepest fears by just looking at them and being able to cause people to have a panic attack by just saying a sentence. Not a lot of people knew his name, but Patton had paid special attention to the trio, having tried to get close enough to date Virgil when he first showed up. It had failed and he gave up when they didn't notice him; And then there was 'Deceit'. No one knew his real name (not even the teachers and staff of the school), and it was rumored that not even Remus and Virgil knew it. He got his nickname from his tendency to lie a lot, especially when it was to save Remus's or Virgil's feelings- especially Virgil's, as Remus had thick skin.

Patton stared, mirroring their shock. They were both caught in compromising positions. It was a stalemate. That was until Virgil let out a soft groan and swatted Remus's hand away from his nether regions with a catlike hiss. Remus pouted in a way that Patton would be lying if he said that it wasn't cute. Wait. What? No! He can't be thinking like that! It's too soon! Deceit laughed a little and turned to Patton with a raised eyebrow.

"Can we help you?" He asked in a tone that Patton couldn't tell if he was being sassy and rude or genuine and concerned. Then it hit Patton that he had been staring and Deceit was probably caught between a mix of the two. Patton quickly averted his gaze and tried to compose himself. He couldn't believe that he was actually talking to Deceit, one of the most popular people in the school. he was the dust on his shoes; why was he even paying attention to him?

"Umm...hi," he said, looking back up to meet Deceit's gaze to find something playful and genuine in his eyes. He felt himself relax back into his own fun-loving personality. "I'm Patton. And you must be Deceit...if that even is your real name." Deceit laughed before speaking.

"It is," he said in that same tone. Patton couldn't tell if he was being truthful, and it scared the cardigan-wearing man that he felt alright with it. Deceit seemed like the type of person to spare your feelings at all cost, and he wasn't sure if he should be concerned about that. Deceit looked at the teartracks down Patton's face and his puffy eyes. This kid looked like he needed a distraction. He held out his hand towards Patton, who took it and shook it. Deceit smiled kindly at him and lifted their hands to kiss Patton's. Patton giggled and felt himself flush. His troubles were already being forgotten.
