It had been 2 months so far since Dani had come to warn Leanna about Asarious's plan but Dani had been keeping her distance from the Deveraux family. She had her meals delivered in her room and locked the door so no one could get in. She wasn't used to seeing her big sister married, pregnant and a werewolf. Anna was worried about the effect Dani's behavior would cause on Leanna so she deicded to talk to Dani.
She went up to the her room and knocked on the door knowing that the door was locked "Dani?" Anna asked "go away" Anna heard almost quiet sobbing from the other side of the door. Using the key that opens all doors in the castle, Anna let herself inside to see Dani looking outside at the moon tears falling "Dani, what's wrong?" Anna asked her staying by the doorway "i think it would have been easier on me if Leanna did get killed by a werewolf not becoming a monster herself" Dani said touching the window "thats cruel, saying you'd rather see your sister dead then a werewolf" "We were taught to kill werewolves and other immortals she turned her back on our family and the slayer code" Dani had mumbled
Anna was fed up with this so she went over to Dani and pushed her against the window glaring at the girl who was staring at her frightened "you don't have any idea how this is hurting Leanna, she missed you i was overhearing her tell Zephyr about the promise she made your mother to always take care of you, The way i see it not only was she turning into a immortal so she can be with the one she truely loved she was also making sure she was around forever to watch over you" Anna told her the hard truth and realization hit Dani "Dani, Leanna loves you with all her heart, you two have been thick as thieves ever since that horrible night 11 years ago, the sisterly bond will never fade, she was also hoping in time if you liked this world enough to have you changed" Anna loosened her grip on Dani who had fresh tears in her eyes.
"i have been selfish im seeing its true now, Anna i missed Leanna too, we have always been close, even though i was taking slayer classes i went to regular school too, i would cry seeing every kid get picked up by their mothers knowing ill never have that again but when Leanna came she took me for ice cream and helped me with homework" Dani told Anna "then what is the matter?" She asked "The real reason is im afraid she doesnt like me anymore and that her child will replace me" Anna laughed "she loves you dearly she would never stop loving you and your gonna be an aunt, Leanna is not replacing you, she's giving you the chance to have someone of your own to protect if she cannot" Anna smiled and Dani smiled back "im ready to go down now" Dani told her.
Anna linked arms with Dani and went downstairs which surprised Leanna, Dani ran into her sisters arms "im so sorry for avoiding you, i didn't mean to i was scared you weren't gonna like me and that you were replacing me im so sorry can you forgive me?" Dani looked up at Leanna who smiled softly and kneeled down "Dani, remember the raid on the Hawkins Manor 11 years ago?" Dani nodded "and how i killed the vampire my first vampire slaying to stop him from hurting our mother?" Dani nodded again "Our mother wanted you to be safe she knew the world of the slayers was much too dangerous to a innocent girl like you, i now realize that she wanted me to become a werewolf so i can watch over you for all eternity, ill live a long time Dani there is alot of life open to me now then ever before. I wouldnt be content being Vaughn's wife because i would die a human, I'm still me the same big sister who would always take care of you no matter what it costs me, i vow on our mother i will always be there of course i forgive you your my little sister" Leanna told her, Dani broke down crying knowing she was wrong
"Anna told you this already but im not replacing you either, this baby thats growing inside me right now, when i cannot it will be your job as an auntie to look after him or her" Dani hugged Leanna tightly "i love you Leanna and i missed you" Dani whispered
