Quietly entering the dark house, Gisele made sure not to make any noise seeing how it was really late, the kids would definitely be asleep and her sister would most likely be up waiting for her, she did not want to deal with that. Her phone went off, silently curing at it for being so loud she looked down to see it was about one of her long time patients, she couldn't help but squeal in excitement.
"Gisele!" Amelia yelled from upstairs.
She rushed out the door before Amelia could catch her.
Right as she was about to pull out of the driveway the passenger door opened and Meredith got in, "May I help you?"
"You're going to the hospital right?"
"Yes." Gisele said.
"Me too... who's car is this, I thought yours was still in the shop?"
Gisele nodded, "It is... and I think his name was Potato."
Meredith raised her brows in confusion, "Potato?"
"Yeah." She quickly turned the music on to drown the awkwardness of the ride out.
After speeding excessively over the limit and nearly getting pulled over, they made it to the hospital, Gisele quickly getting out of the car not wanting to wait for Meredith. Practically running to the lounge she changed and met up with Jo.
"Wow, that's..." Jo stated after Gisele had explained what her experience with driving Meredith to the hospital.
"Hell, it was hell." Gisele said right as Meredith approached them.
"Simon Jaffee. End-stage renal disease." Jo read the chart as they began walking.
"Has been on dialysis for the last 18 months waiting for a transplant donor." Gisele continued.
"Why so long?" Penny questioned, trying to catch up with them. Gisele inwardly groaned, she barley had enough patience to deal with Meredith now she had to deal with Penny, she had a feeling she wasn't going to make it through the day.
"Antibodies. He needs a six-antigen match."
"An impossible match until tonight." Jo cut her off, "We've been looking forever. It's like finding the Holy Grail."
Meredith turned to Penny, "Blake, when was Mr. Jaffee's last round of dialysis?" Jo and Gisele glanced at each other, frowning why would Meredith ask her instead of them, the one's who've been with him since the beginning.
