She's Leaving Home: Part 1

Roaming the halls, peering into rooms trying to find Gigi. If Derek was here then so was Gigi. Rounding the corner, Winnie peered her head in one room and saw Gisele laying on the bed, wires everywhere, looking like she was sleeping.

   "Not you too," Winnie whispered, walking into the room, she noticed how Gisele didn't look as bad as Derek, she gently placed her fingers in her wrist, "You're not dead. I know you're not dead. Know how I know? 'Cause I can feel your pulse, which means your heart is beating. Derek showed me. Your heart is beating, which means you're not dead, okay? You stay not dead, okay?"

    "You're not supposed to be in here."

Winnie turned, it was the red headed doctor from earlier, "I know, I just wanted to make sure Gigi was okay."

Her face lit up, "You know her?"

Winnie nodded, "Yeah, she's my friend too and Derek's sister, she helped him save us. She's a doctor too."

   "Crap," the redhead said to herself before ushering Winnie out of the room, "Go back to your mom." She said then walked over to the nurses station, "When Dr. Shepherd's wife gets here take her to Jane Doe's room, that's Dr. Shepherd's sister, Gigi." The nurse nodded, she turned around headed for Gigi's room, determined not to lose another doctor when she was paged 911, she hesitantly looked into the room before running off to answer the page.

"Before I take you up to see your husband," the nurse hesitated, "I have to ask, does your husband have a sister, early to mid twenties?"

Meredith's heart dropped to her stomach more if even possible, she attempted to force out words but couldn't so she settled for a small nod.

"She was also in accident, her injuries aren't as extensive as your husband's." The nurse explained and lead her to Gisele's room, "We think nothings wrong, just a few scrapes and bruises."

Meredith took the chart and was flabbergasted when she saw it was blank, "Why is her chart blank?"

"Because nurses can't diagnose patients."

"You're telling me she's only been seen by nurses." Meredith said now outraged.

The nurse visibly gulped, "We're short staffed. Our doctors are either in surgery working on the ones they saved or aren't on call."

"Don't you think you should've paged more doctors," she scolded, "I want her transferred to Grey Sloan, now."

Back in the room Gisele tried opening her eyes, they were too heavy at first. She groggily looked around the room, confused where she was because the last thing she remembered was a truck ramming into the car. She knives her head to the side, wincing in pain during the process. She looked through the window and saw Meredith yelling at a nurse, she blinked her eyes multiple times to make sure she wasn't imagining things. Gisele soon gave in to the heaviness of her eyelids and everything went black again.

After announcing Derek had died, Meredith fainted. Owen has set her up in a room, after he was done he walked out into the hall where Richard and Bailey were waiting, "Hey, how is she? She's all right?" Bailey asked tearfully.

"She's dehydrated. How's Amelia holding up?" Owen asked, Richard and Bailey gave each other a look, "What, she doesn't know?"
