**Courtney's POV**

I squint into the distance, looking for the familiar shape of Angelina's car. Nothing. My sister was on there, I had to get her!

After waiting for a few minutes, I hop off my bike and guide it all the way home.

As I walk in, I hear the familiar sound of an approaching car. Yes! I thought. They're finally here! Quickly propping my bike on the wall, I ran outside to greet my friend.

What I saw was not what I expected. Instead of a car filled with people, I saw a car with no driver, no people whatsoever. I look around, confused. Was this car an auto? It looked so much like Angelina's car!

Spinning around, I walked back into the house, pretending nothing had happened. My feet automatically guide me to the shower, and I turn on the steaming hot water and step in.

**Next morning**

I head towards Angelina's house, deciding that my sis probably went over or something. I was also going there to carpool to school.

Going in, I shout, "Angelina!" No reply. Don't tell me they're actually gone. No.

"Angelina!" I shout again. Still no reply. I start to walk around, looking for any signs of life, but nothing came up. I was alone. Tears start to roll onto my face, as I thought about my family and friends. "No." I say weakly. "No."

I run out, my backpack on my back and violin in my hands, heading towards school.

Strangely, there were no cars going to school. I thought, I don't care if I die. I'm alone, after all.

And I realized how horrible my thought was. I was going crazy.....

I walk up to the middle of the road and start running. I've always wanted to do this. Looking up at the clouds, I realize that it was drizzling. I love the rain! Smiling like a crazy person, I ran down the street, out the community, through the shopping center, and up the hill (all the way on the road) to school campus.

I glance at my watch. It was 7:50. I was 10 minutes early for school. On the parking lot was only one car, and it was backing out, getting ready to leave.

I ignore it, sure that it was just another auto.

The rain kept at a steady pace as I race towards the lunch tables, when I notice that it was 8:08, two minutes before the late bell. I run to my first period class, science, thinking that that must be why school was so deserted.

I barge into the classroom, only to find that it was empty, devoid of any movement or sound. I walk slowly to my seat and set down all my stuff. I sit there, reading a book, listening for any sounds that might indicate that someone was here.

10 minutes later, nothing happened. I slowly get up and walk to the door, peeking out. In the rain, I see a familiar shape standing around uncertainty. It was Kayden, a person in my CORE (reding, language arts, and social studies) and PE class.

Quickly grabbing my violin and backpack, I walk out into the rain towards the Kayden. I had always liked him, with his blonde-ish (it looks almost white) hair, stormy grayish-bluish eyes, his tall figure, and he was really fit. I always fall for people like him, funny (not to the crazy-phsyco extent), maybe a little dramatic, and... slight troublemakers (not too much, though).

There were many people like that that I'd met before, but Kayden stole my attention from any other guy I was falling for. It was crazy. He was over me.

As I approach Kayden, I yell, "Kayden!" Just saying his name sent tingles up my arms. He spins around at the sound of his name, and squints into the rain. "Courtney?" He asks questioningly. I have to say, I was always good at concealing my feelings. I guess I never blush, like it always says in books, or anything when it comes to crushes.

"Yes, it's me..." I grab his arm, a nervous feeling sprouting in my chest, and pull him forward. "Let's go to the lunch tables and talk."

Kayden obliges and starts walking forward. I could see him starting to smile from the corner of my eye, and he says, teasingly, "Courtney, you don't have to hold on that tight." I loosen my grip on his arm and pull away, my feet carrying me to the lunch tables.

I could hear Kayden splashing in the puddles behind me, quickly gaining speed, as he is a fast sprinter, the fastest in PE class. Luckily, I had figured out a few days ago that I could sprint equally as fast, maybe even a little faster, and I start to sprint.

I neared the green lunch tables, and I set my heels on the ground and lean backwards, letting my shoes scrape on the ground, braking myself. I hear Kayden yell, "Whoa!" And a weight landed on my back. I fell forward, not ready for the sudden weight on myself, and I stick my arms out, ready to break my fall. "What the-"

I rethought about it and twist around, landing on my back instead. Looking up, I saw Kayden looking down at me amusingly, and I smile sheepishly. "Sorry," I say. He put his hand out in reply, and I took it and stand up, brushing myself off. It was no use, I was already wet.

I turn around and smile, liking how this was going. I sit down and gesture to the seat in front of me, and Kayden, being the weirdo he is, stays standing. I roll my eyes and say, "Tell me what happened starting from yesterday night."

Does anybody like this? Still no better titles? Keep on reading, I don't like to promise, but it will get better, I promise. At least for me, the plot seems awesome...

I've added point of view, yay! I will change the first chapter soon. Is this the longest chapter I've ever written? Maybe.

Comment if you want, vote if you want (please!), do both if possible (pwease, wif a chewwy on top?)!! Thanks for reading!!

I just realized that that ⬆️, when you say it out loud, it sounds like "whiff a chewy on top?" Haha
