In the Beginning.

I'd been working nonstop and on my days off I was keeping Zenith and sleeping. My apartment was a mess. I just wasn't feeling good at all. I wouldn't say i was suicidal but I'm definitely depressed. Zenith was the only thing keeping me going. Honestly i feel like the reason Malik and I didn't work out was because we were simply moving to fast.
I was laying in bed with Zenith when I heard knocks on my apartment door. I slowly get up. "Who is it?"

"Open the door bitch!!" I heard a familiar voice say.

"Whatttt Jaylaaa?" I say swinging the door open.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY!!!" She says holing a cupcake with a 24 candle

I blew the candle out "thank you." I say taking the cupcake from her and hugging her.

"You welcome. I haven't talked to you in 2 weeks!! And we're best friends girl.. we should talk to each other everyday." She says walking in my apartment with her overnight bag.

"I know jay I've just been tired and working."

"Well it's the weekend and I'm staying over and we're going out. We're both single. And we need new friends."

"I don't think I'm gonna be going out anywhere.. Look at my apartment." I say looking around my messy apartment

"Ehh I know, I can help you clean this place up. But you're definitely getting out the house."

"Okay okay." I say wiping the side of my face.

"Who all told you happy birthday today?" She says begging to wash the dishes

"My momma, my brother, my nephew and niece, and Malik. And you know some people on insta." I say picking up Zens toys

"Thanks for helping me clean this place up."

"You welcome babes.. I just want you to go out with me tonight and maybe we can find you a nigga." She says while twerking

"Girll I'm not looking for a nigga. But iont have no where for Zen to go."

"Call one of your baby daddies I'm sure one of them is free."

I bust out laughing taking out my phone.

"I'll go open the door." Jayla says getting up as I straighten the last few pieces of my hair.

"Hey tre." I say looking at him though the mirror and he walks to pick a sleeping zenith out my bed.

"Hey Genesis. You look nice."he says looking me up and down

"Thanks."

Jayla sucks her teeth "uhh why you complementing her?"

"I can't complement my baby moms?" He says looking at her with a stank face.

"Nah you should be complementing yo pregnant girlfriend."
