HIS POSSESSION [ Under Editing ]

3. CAN I GET YOUR NUMBER.?

( GUDDAN'S P.O.V ) 

I jolted awake with my breathing ragged,
And my eyes searching for any immediate sign of danger around me. But once i found myself in the peaceful environment of my own room,
I realized it's just a nightmare.
I checked the clock & saw it's 2 in the morning,
I couldn't help , feeling a bit paranoid after the nightmare.
So I put on my earbuds and the voice of the music reached my ears.
And somehow the melodic tune of song lulled me to sleep.

Next time I woke up, it was already 8, that means I am running late for the college.
I hopped out of the bed in a panicked state, and managed to get dress in minimal time,
I quickly grabbed my phone, wallet and ran out the front door for the college.

I don't know what I am trying to do, standing in the mid corridor for past 10 minutes making a complete fool of myself, and just gazing intently at the hole of the classroom's door as if the whole secret of big bang is mentioned there.
Ok so what happened is that I tried really hard but unluckily couldn't make it to the college in time and here I am now trying to figure out what to do.

" Found anything out there ". A voice interrupted my train of thoughts completely startling me.
I almost jumped 2 feet in the air out of surprise. Cautiously i turned around and saw Akshat staring at me with an amused expression on his face.

" You scared the living daylight out of me " I shot back in an annyoyed tone.

" I didn't knew you were jumpy " Akshat said to me totally unaffected by my lack of interest.

" I am not jumpy " I angrily spat back at him. My words came out harsher then I intended to. Akshat visibly flinched at my words.

"I I am s sorry, i i  s should j just go ". I stuttered in utter embarasment.

He quickly recovered himself and the next words that came out from his mouth completely shocked me.

" Would you like to go for a coffee ". I think Akshat saw the shock evident on my face beacause he immediately clarified himself.

" I mean you have already missed half of the first lecture, & I don't think there is any chance now for you to enter the class. So just a cup of coffee then you can resume from 2nd lecture ".

I thought about it for a moment, but then agreed with him. We walked across the street to the Starbucks and sat down on the booth near window.
We just sat there in an uncomfortable silence waiting for our orders to arrive. No one was uttering a word. At this point I want nothing else but to lie down on my bed and let sleep pull me under it's bliss,
but somehow deep down I knew this is going to be a long day.

( AKSHAT'S P.O.V ) 

A victorious smile spread across my face when Guddan agreed to go on a coffee with me.
Actually after our first interaction I couldn't help but feel intrigued by her.
I wanted to know her better
So I came to the college early today and gathered all the information I could without being suspected about her.

I waited for Guddan by the front entrance but she didn't show up.
I was about to turn around and go to my class when I saw her running towards the class.
And that's when i came up with this idea.

I cleared my throat and tried to start a conversation with Guddan.
" Umm So Guddan tell me something about yourself " I asked her while taking a sip of my coffee.

She looked unsure for a moment but then replied in a soft voice,
"What do you want to know? "

"What about 20 questions.? " I asked glancing at her.

"Sure "

For about 10 minutes we just talked about nothing in particular, some basic stuff. 

One thing was just constantly nagging at the back of my mind, so I asked her.

"Okey so um Guddan, are you basically from here indore , I mean I never saw you around here earlier, Have you just shifted here. "

As I completed my question,she shifted uncomfortably in her seat. A different emotion flashed through her eyes for just a sec and it vanished quickly but not before I noticed it.

"I am sorry but I don't want to talk about that And yeah i've just shifted here " Guddan replied with a sharp edge in her tone.

I sigh in defeat and decided to change the subject once again.

"No problem, so why English Major "

"Ahh that, just I love literature, and I've always wished to be a writer. So I firstly want to know all about the important perspectives of literature and history. So um yeah, and what about you.? "

" Actually same in some sense, my dad wants me to take over his company, so I decided to learn business and know about all the stuffs "

Guddan just replied with a short 'oh' and once again we both became silent just gazing outside the window.

After a while I turned my gaze towards her and saw her leaning towards the window, she seems too be lost in some deep thought,
A line of worry was etched across her beautiful face, I just wanted her to be comfortable with me & at this point a part of me wanted nothing else but to take Guddan in my arms and steal all her worries and problems.
These thoughts were all foreign to me, I don't understand why I am feeling suddenly all nervous and possessive over this frail pretty girl in front of me whom I just have met 1 day ago.

I don't know for how long we just sat there, guddan looking outside the window and I staring at her face, but we came out of our dazed state as the front door slammed shut.

I thought about asking her for something but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Somehow I found enough courage and focused my attention at her.

"Umm.... "

Guddan raised an eyebrow in a questioning way. "Yeah..? "

"AActually ii was jjust wondering, uhm I mean if you don't mind, so can I..... "

Before I could get a chance to complete my sentence, her phone vibrated in her hand and she stand up abruptly.

"I have to go, Bye and thanks for the coffee" Guddan replied as she made her way towards the door.

Can I get your number. These words just stuck down at the tip of my tongue. I swallowed hard and just stared outside where Guddan disappeared inside the college.

This is going to be a long day.
