Fuck.
My head was pounding. I sat up in bed, looking out the window. It was raining outside. Considering what happened yesterday, I was surprised I didn't have another nightmare. I was scared to get up, like I was a fragile doll who would break at any moment. I laid back down, staring at the ceiling. My perfect silence got broken by a soft knock on my door."Come in." I said, sitting up.
The door opened and my mom entered.
"Leiana, I have breakfast ready and I am taking you out today. No objections!" She laughed as I made a disgusted face.
"And don't tell your dad, he will worry. See you in a few minutes." She smiled and shut the door.
I haven't spent one on one time with my mom for a couple of months. I act all annoyed with the idea but I actually miss us going on trips. When your parents are two legends who are busy all the time, it is hard to spend time with them.
After getting ready and eating breakfast, I grabbed my bag and met my mom outside. My dad already left to go teach, so I didn't get to see him before we left.
"So, where are we going?" I asked, standing next to my mom
"We are going to somewhere really special to me. I think you will love it." She reassuringly put her arm around me and starting leading us to the ship. I swear, no matter how much I have seen it, the Millennium Falcon still amazes me. It is so beautiful and holds so much history. It may be a piece of space junk, but I am in love with it.
"Mom..does Poe know we are taking the Falcon?" I asked as we walked onto the ship. Poe is very attached to the Falcon, even more than my dad. My dad hasn't stepped on the Falcon in years, according to my mom at least.
"Poe knows, as long as we aren't gone for too long he won't chop our heads off" she said, laughing at the idea. Poe never really gets angry.
We made it to the cockpit. My mom sat in the pilot seat and I sat next to her. I am disappointed she didn't let me fly the Falcon, but I get it. In the end I am still a young pilot, definitely not qualified to fly the oldest ship here.
"One day." My mom said as she started up the ship.
"What?"
"One day I'll let you fly the Falcon" She looked at me and smiled.
Could she read my mind? Well..I guess I have encountered weirder things in my life.

The galaxy looks so beautiful when you are flying through it. We were just coasting through the galaxy, I didn't even know where we were anymore.A couple of minutes later my mom said we were going to be landing in a few minutes. We sat back down and strapped in, I could feel the ship dip slightly as we entered the atmosphere. As the clouds cleared, all I could see was ocean. In the distance though, there was a small island.
We landed on the island. When I stepped off the ship I noticed there was a beach, a mountain, and a small village in the distance. I took a deep breath, enjoying the sea air. It was stunning here. My mom was sitting on a rock near the water, I walked towards her.
"Mom, where are we?" I asked sitting next to her
She sighed
"Do you remember your dads Uncle Luke?"
"Yeah..I never met him but I heard stories. He was one of the last Jedi, before you and Dad."
"Right..well when I was a young woman, I worked for the resistance as you know. One of my first tasks was to help find Luke. He was off the grid, completely isolating himself from everything." She paused, as if she was trying to put together her thoughts correctly. "We recovered a map that led us to him. I went alone, and the map led me here. I found Luke on this island, it was weird. I was in the presence of a legend. Anyways..he refused to help the resistance fight against the first order. I tried to convince him but it was no use. The only thing I did get him to do was train me. He helped me understand the force and he was the first person who took time out of his day to make me a better person. He would deny every word I just said but I know he would agree in the end. I would not be the person I am today without him."
"Thats..amazing but why did you bring me here?" I said, still trying to understand the purpose in this trip.
She grabbed my hand and looked at me.
"Leiana..your father and I have felt for the past couple of days that there is something going on with you. We believe that we were wrong about you, you actually are responsive to the force. Although, you don't have to tell us anything, I wanted to let you know that we are here for you. We will help train you if that is what you want, or we will leave you alone. I..I just wanted to bring you here to show a piece of my story. I was just like you when I was young, and I want to make sure that I am giving you more than I got."
I took a shaky breath, I could already feel the tears forming.
"Mom..I am so scared. I thought I was a nobody, I thought that all I was going to be was a pilot. And I was happy with that, I know that I still can be. But..I took down a group of five guys in a second, without even touching them. How is that possible?"
"Sometimes..life doesn't always go as we plan. We have to learn and adjust as we go along. It is okay to be scared, it is a scary process. Just I hope you seek guidance from us. We are here for you. There is nothing wrong with you, you are just uncovering a wonderful new part of yourself. I am..so proud of you my love"
She hugged me then, and I hugged her back. In that moment, I felt so safe. As if nothing in the world could hurt us. I was so lucky to have such amazing parents.
"I love you so much mom, thank you."
"I love you too Leiana, forever and always"
