We were only on the island for another hour before we had to head back, which was disappointing. I could have spent all day on there. Before we got on the ship, my mom stopped and turned to me.

"Leiana, I brought you here to show you the beauty and tragedy within the Jedi. You have a legacy of amazing Jedi flowing through you, use it. Here..I found out how powerful I could become. So, please know that this island is here when you need it. Explore and get in touch with the power within you. I hope you will reach out for help, but in the end..only you know how to truly utilize the gift you have. I love you so much." She hugged me, like she didn't want to ever let me go.

I hugged her back, I was a bit overwhelmed so I didn't respond. But I knew she understood that I was grateful, she was my mom after all. She knew me better than anyone. I don't know what I would do without her or dad.

Arriving back on the base, it was surprisingly quiet. No one was rushing around, the children weren't playing outside. Something was off. I could feel it.

"..I have a bad feeling about this" My mom said, landing the ship.

We exited the Falcon with caution, expecting the worst. Then, we saw everyone come out of the base, they were all smiling and talking. What was going on? Was there anything actually wrong?

I saw Ryder coming out of the crowd, he saw me and smiled. It was nice to see him. I ran up to him and hugged him.

"Hey Leia, where were you this morning?" He said, smirking at my sudden affection.

"Oh..um..My mom took me out for a while. What's going on here? What did I miss?"

"The base received a distress call from a planet in the outer rim. They were getting attacked by another planet...it was all about resources or something. Anyways, we sent a small fleet out to rescue them and bring them back here. We were just greeting them. Sadly, not a lot of them made it..but we saved over half of the people."

"That's amazing! I'm sad I missed it, I would have loved to fly on that mission!"

"Well..there is always next time. I have a feeling that we will be getting more calls, there hasn't been a big attack on a planet in years, so something is wrong. Nothing to worry about though..yet" He put his arm around me, in an attempt to make me feel better.

I smiled at him softly, trying to say that I was okay. It has been a weird last two days. I had to tell him about everything.

"Cmon..lets go somewhere more..private" I said dragging him towards my house. My parents would be off helping at the base by now, so we could talk in private.

He stayed silent, just letting me drag him along. We got to the house and I pulled him through the door, closing it behind us. He smirked a bit and leaned into me. He closed the gap between us and pushed me lightly against the door. He kissed me, surprising me. It took me a moment but I started kissing him back. His hands gripped my waist and I started pulling at his hair lightly. He smiled as he kissed me, I guess he liked when I did that. He started trailing from my lips down to my cheek, my jaw and then eventually to my neck. He kissed there for a bit, lightly biting my neck before leaning back. He just looked at me, I blushed. I liked when he looked at me..like that. I decided to break the silence.

"Ryder..as..um..nice as that was, I didn't bring here for that. I actually do need to talk to you about last night." I took a deep breath, it felt strange to talk about it, it made me realize that it was real.

"Yeah..I figured. I just thought that I might as well take my chance at doing that before we started talking about all of the serious stuff." He let me go and sat down on the couch, I walked over and sat next to him.

"I..don't know what happened. All I know is what you told me and what my parents have felt. I think you are right, I have this connection to the force. This is so confusing for me..all my life I have thought I was a nobody, that I was destined to live my life as a pilot of the resistance. I wasn't expecting much from my life. Then, I started getting those nightmares..."

I sighed, looking at him. He was listening intently, waiting for me to continue.

"And..I think that they were trying to show me something, that they were apart of my connection to the force. But, I guess I still have to figure that out. All I know now is, I want to try and figure it out. I may never have the chance again to try and get in touch with the force, so I have to use it. Do you get what I'm saying?"

"I get it Leiana. So, where did your mom take you today? It seemed to have an..impact on you"

"She took me to the island where Luke Skywalker was, he went away to find the first Jedi Temple there and he died there. My mom was the person who found him, she got him to train her. She brought me there..to give me some perspective, to show me where her journey started. She said I could use it when I wanted, to train or just to go explore. It was so beautiful there...I want to go back."

Ryder put his hand on my cheek, turning me to look at him. He leaned in, kissing me lightly, it was a small peck but it made me feel so much better.

"Leiana..I promise you. We will go back there one day, we can get a group of other people and spend time there training and learning. It would be amazing."

He was so full of optimism, it was cute. I don't why I doubted him when I first met him, he was so sweet.

"When did you get to be so soft? In school you were this confident kid who was full of attitude" I said, smirking at him.

He laughed "I am not soft, I am still that asshole from school. Don't worry, you won't change me that easily Leia"

I kissed him on the cheek.

"We'll see" I said, laughing at him. He looked so charming and good right now, what was he doing to me?

He stood up, offering his hand to me.

"Cmon you dork, I'll go introduce you to the new people"

I took his hand as he led me out of the house. The crowd had died down, separating into groups across the base. Ryder led me to a group of kids our age, introducing me. There were lots of them, it was going to be hard to remember all of their names.

We were still chatting with the group when another guy walked over. He joined our group smiling as he started up a conversation. He looked no older than 20. He was tall with curly brown hair. He had a jacket on that was way too big for him, but I guess he made it work. He clearly didn't notice Ryder and I, who were just standing there awkwardly wondering who he was. He looked over at us, well..he looked at me. He smiled, turning his attention to me.

"Hi, I don't think we have been introduced. I'm Issac Parthea, and you are?"

"I'm Leiana Solo, pleased to meet you Issac" I said.

I extended my hand, and he took it. In that moment though, when we touched hands, something happened. There was this..feeling, that sent shivers down my spine. It was as if we were..forged together by something or someone. He seemed to notice too, his smile faltered a bit looking at our hands. We stayed there for a bit looking at each other, before I hastily let go of his hand. We smiled at each other awkwardly and joined the conversation like nothing ever happened.

What the hell was that?
