CHAPTER 46 | WAR

___

YOU

Yoongi and I finally arrived to Gwyar, and our hearts dropped once we saw blazing flames touching the skies. The dragon continues to rage, and in the far distance—Axel was having fun cutting down the civilians.

"No!" I screamed out and ran into the pits of Hell. "Stop this at once!"

The war continues to rage on behind me. The sound of bodies dumping onto the ground never fails to give me the chills, despite how I've killed more than handfuls. I am death, I am their blood, I am their fear, and I am their end. Seven hunters run towards me with their sword raised up to the dark skies of Moros. They scream to the top of their lungs, unaware that they made a terrible mistake. Perhaps they do know the mistake, they just lost the hope to live and fight for their "land".

Once they all swung the sword, my eyes began to glow as a powerful force blew them away. But that doesn't stop them from getting up. They all grabbed onto their blade that detached from their grips, but they immediately knew that something felt off.

Their blade feels a lot lighter than before, almost as if it was a feather. A strong sweet scent circles around them, causing even more confusion. They slowly look at their weapon and witness how it decayed into rose petals. Once their weapon was fully dismantled, their attention was snapped back to me as I approached him. They scoot away, afraid and defenceless.

"Get away from me you damn monster!" one of the hunters says and continues to retreat. "By the Gods, the legends are true. . . you're the darkness instrument. A trumpet of the calling that shall bring the world to its knees; Queen of Swords, Mistress of Grief, Lady of Death, Goddess of the Rose Blood."

Darkness swirled around my fingertips, "Legends are slippery little things. For the glory that coats them hides the pain, suffering and death that spun them."

"Have you not know the glorification of the Gods that shines Light upon the cursed lands?! Sooner or later, they will smite you for what you've done to their hard work!" He lectures while holding a pendant on his necklace of Lady Gaea, Goddess of Light and Life.

"Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire," I explained. "They have built cathedrals out of spite and splintered bone, of course they aren't pretty, nothing holy ever is."

He looks up at me with fear but faith that the Gods will grant him a safe passage to the afterlife.

"Do you really believe that Lady Gaea will come and save you?" I asked. "Holy places are dark places. It is life and strength, not knowledge and words, that we get in them. Holy wisdom is not clear and thin like water, but thick and dark like blood. Hence is why Janus, God of All Creation, created me."

Darkness held their body down, causing them to squirm around to break free. But, no luck. Suddenly, a dark aura surrounds them and starts to suffocate their lungs, followed by a burning sensation. Tears swell up in their eyes, feeling the intense agonizing pain swallowing their soul away. They couldn't scream, no matter how much they tried to.

Within seconds, their skin starts to sink into their bones, their eyes popped out of their skull, and their hair begins to fall out of their scalp. Blood squirts up from their lips, then all over as the veins begin to pop. Their once pale skin turned into a crimson red as their entire body was internally bleeding.

"It hurts," The hunters cried out. The darkness retreated back into my fingertips, but before anything else, large roses grew out of their stomachs, mouths, and eyes, tearing the flesh and intestines apart from the thick and sharp thorns.
