It seemed that Hinata and Kageyama were never going to get this quick down and I was never going to be able to land that serve. I tried it during a game with Nekoma and Kuroo gave me a thumbs up even though I messed up.
We were all called outside after a long day of running up that damned hill to see that we were brought watermelon and everyone sat around to enjoy it. I noticed Hitsuji being accompanied by Kiyoko. I never would've expected Hitsuji to be in a place like this. He didn't strike me as a sports lover. "I still wish you were on the court whenever we play!" Bokuto sighed, dropping down to lean against me. "I really want to block you." "You don't usually block do you?" I asked. "No! But I will if you play!" "I'm sure we'll play together eventually. Our lineups when we play with your team are different since no one is comparable to my size." "Lame!"
"Bokuto!" Ace plopped herself down beside us. "Ruby, Bōeisa, and I can still practice with you guys, right?" "Yeah, of course!" "Jun! You should join us tonight!" I smiled, nodding while taking a bite of my watermelon. "You know Ace?" Bokuto asked, putting his arm around her. "She's one of my friends from Mukudori," I answered, hoping I was still understandable with my mouth full of fruit. "For real?! That's awesome!"
A tap on my shoulder brought my attention upwards. Ruby signed to me. "Your sister is looking for you." "Where?" "She was in the gym, however-" Ace turned her head towards the door and I immediately knew my sister had barged into my camp. "Hi!" She signed, "I brought your gift!" "Gift?" I stood up to meet her by the door. Others looked at her, probably because of her height. Yaku looked visibly upset. "I texted you last night," Keiko told me. "You said I forgot something." "I lied." "Kei." "Here! Take it!"
Keiko held out a very minimalistic box that fit in the palms of my hands. "Please accept my gift. It took mom and me a while to finally get them." "What is it?" "You'll see! Now, I have to leave before you try and give it back." Keiko patted both my shoulders and began to head back inside. I tilted up the box's lid and immediately closed it back down. "Keiko!" I called out. People began to get closer to the door. "Accept it!" She signed again. "Kei!" "Please!" "Kei!" I watched her vanish from sight and I gripped the box in my hands, hating what was inside.
Hinata appeared from behind my arm. "What is it?" He asked. I shook my head. Ace appeared on the other arm. "What is it, Jun?" I shook my head again. Nishinoya jumped in front of me. "Can I see?!" Now everyone around me was interested. Nishinoya was bouncing with curiosity. I couldn't deny him. "Be careful," I mumbled, holding out the box to him. He grabbed it quickly and opened it, Hinata and Ace moved to his sides to see what was in it.
