Imagine That!
Chapter 18
Memories (Part 1)"So my last mission is to kill a chick?" The brunette asked with a frown.
"Well of course, don't you trust us?" The man with the brown leather hat asked.
The young brunette felt entitled to respond 'yes' and so, did so.
His eyes wandered away from the mysterious man before him and onto the hamburger before him. He took a bite of it before looking up at the man again.
"Alright then, whatever, where will she be tonight?" He asked, deviating from the unsociable atmosphere that rested before him.
"It is uncertain." The mysterious man responded quickly, almost as if it were an impulse.
"You mean that you don't know?" The young man asked, almost bursting into laughter, "This is a first!" He stated.
The mysterious man let out a sigh as he pulled out an envelope and handed it to the young man.
Their eyes met, "Do not let us down." Said the man sternly before walking away and exiting the diner.
The young man wasted no time to open the blank, white envelope up. Inside, he pulled out two coloured photographs of a young lady. She had (colour) eyes and (colour) hair. She looked about his age as well.
He studied the photographs momentarily before turning them both around and setting them on the table. He then pulled out the rest of the papers in the envelope.
There was a written letter, a phone number, a blue necklace, and a typed out paper that held extra information on it.
He read the letter in his head, it was titled, "Human Abilities" and the name underneath it read, "_________ _________".
Reading it only for the information that it carried, he skipped around, "-and so in my research, humans are capable of so much. Whether it be to withstand nuclear power to simple common sense. Of course this all takes us back to the main focus, what if humans were to create a power that can revolutionise our independent way of thinking?"
The boy sighed, exhausted of already looking at the paper. What was it even about? And what did this girl do to intimidate the people he works for?
Alas, a voice called out to him in the distance.
"Hey!"
The brunette looked up to see his blue-eyed, cherry blonde friend, "Oh, hi." He said nonchalantly, he folded the paper in his hands but not quick enough.
His friend pulled it away from him, "What'cha reading?" He asked with a giggle.
The brunette pulled the paper back, "That's none of your buisness." He stated, sternly.
The cherry blonde exhaled, "Too bad, I saw the name already so hah!" He stuck his tongue out playfully then teased, "Are you interested in her work the way I am?"
The brunette's eyes widened slightly, "You know about her?" He asked.
"Of course, she's amazing, too bad she's not as popular as she should be, she's so clever... The things that she knows and can find out, they're so intresting!" Smiled the cherry blonde.
"Oliver" called the brunette.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Tell me everything you know about her, now." He commanded.
"Okay!" Oliver smiled, "She believes that humans are capable of so much more than just what we have and all, and yeah yeah, whatever, anywho! She's figured out a lot on her own, like about the secrets that some people are hiding from us-" the brunette quickly cut him off.
