"Koko I want this too" Harper yelled as she ran over to a pink and white adidas tracksuit. I followed behind her, pushing through the crowded store and walked over to where she was. I ended up letting her get two pairs of shoes and some clothes after she sweet talked me and plus it's not like I don't have the money. All I do is work so I don't go out or do shit, therefore after I pay my part of the bills and put gas in my car the rest of my money just builds up in my account
"Are you even gone wear this Harper?"
She nodded with a smile so I flipped my freshly done waist length, bone straight virgin hair over my shoulder and looked through the outfits to find her size
"You need help with anything?" One of the sales associates approached me, the same guy that's been eying me since we got into the store. I've been in this store nearly an hour getting stuff and he waits till now to approach me
"Nah. I'm good"
I found an outfit in her size and threw it across my arm with the rest of her outfits before walking off holding Harper's hand
"Is this all you want?"
She tapped her chin like she was trying to think "hmmmm. I think that's it"
"You sure? Cause we ain't coming back in here"
"I sure KoKo"
"Alright then" I continued to hold her hand as we approached the checkout line. Once it was our turn I sat everything down and watched as the girl started to ring it up. As she scanned everything she looked at me for a second then went back to her job
"You hair is cute"
"Thank you"
"I like yo hair too" Harper told me causing me and the girl to laugh
"Thank you Harper"
"That's your daughter?" The girl asked and I shook my head
"No. But she think she is apparently" I answered as I grabbed the bags from the girl. She then looked at the screen
"Okay, your total will be... $371.56"
I opened my walked and pulled out my chase card, inserting it into the machine
"Can you at least hold one of the bags?" I asked Harper and she grabbed the bag with her clothes in it while dancing around
"Aye, look, woah, aye" she sung out loud, obviously listening to Megan thee stallion a little too much with her momma. The girl at the register and a couple of other people waiting in line laughed as they heard her and I shook my head, grabbing the receipt while stuffing my card back into my wallet
"Y'all have a good day"
"Thank you.. come on girl" I grabbed Harper's hand and we walked out of the store.
"Koko guess what"
"What?"
She looked up at me "my daddy got a baby"
"He do?"
"Yup" she nodded and looked ahead of her, swinging the bag a little
"Who told you that?"
"My daddy"
"Ohh okay. You ready to see the baby"
"Yeah. He say I can hold her w-when I see her"
"Mhhhkay. That's cute"
She smiled and kept a tight grip onto my hand as we continued walking "Harper, you want something to eat outta here or you wanna go somewhere else?"
