EPILOGUE

Here we are :'(  But let's not cry for now, go listen to 'Mine' by Taylor Swift and enjoy this last chapter ;)

*5 months later*

"Oh, Judy sent me pics from last night!" I exclaim, smiling at the photos on my phone.

This has definitely been a beautiful farewell party, and the many pictures can't even show how much fun we've had fun with all the people we love and how much we will miss them.

"They've already recovered?! Because they were pretty smashed!" Alex asks, shaking his head.

"Apparently Judy has, but for Cameron, it seems harder!" I laugh lightly in front of Judy long text with too many emojis.

"This kid doesn't hold his liquor!" Alex chuckles.

I smile; these two are definitely made for each other! They've started dating recently, and so far it seems to go very well. Even though he is a bad boy, I know Cameron will treat her right, and Judy is as crazy and outgoing as him, so they're perfect for each other.

"Look! I love this one!" My wide smile stretches almost painfully my lips at the sight of the photo of Alex and me.

On the picture, we're looking in each other's eyes, lost in our own little world, which is certainly why we haven't noticed Judy snapping the pic.

"We need to frame it and hang it in our home!" Alex grins, glancing at the picture on my phone before looking back at the road, and my heart skips a beat upon this simple word.

"'Our home' I love the sound of it... Say it again please!" I bite my lip, staring dreamily at Alex.

"Our home." He smiles, grabbing my hand and kissing it softly.

I smile back foolishly, my cheeks becoming almost as red as when we've first met under his intense gaze.

To think of how far we have come since then! We are now moving in together. It may just be a simple one-bedroom flat that we're renting, but it will be 'our place', and we will be together, pursuing our dreams as we're entering our first year of college. Alex will study sciences, of course. He's finally got a scholarship, thanks to the recommendation letter of our physics teacher and to the copies of his researches I've sent to some colleges, and they've even granted him a 'special' scholarship – one for the geniuses – to allow him to develop his researches. As for me, I will be on the same campus, but studying in a literary course with the scholarship I've won with the contest.

"Miss Clumsy!" Alex sings out, pulling me out of my thoughts. "What are you thinking in this pretty little head?"

"Er... nothing."

He raises an eyebrow, his tenebrous eyes sparkling. "Really? Because the way you're biting your lip tells me otherwise."

I smile guiltily, releasing my lip. "I was thinking about this new start, and everything we're leaving behind," I confess, drawing my lip back between my teeth instinctively.

"We're not going this far! And we're already coming back on Sunday for the family meal!" He chuckles as his thumb still draws little circles on the top of my hand to soothe me.

"Right." I smile, already missing my Mom, yet I will see her on Sunday for the lunch she organizes with Alex's Mom.

After many argumentations, I've finally convinced my Mom to let me use some of the money I've earned with the publishing contract to help her get a new home and get away from my Dad.

She's got a nice little house, and to divide the rent, she has found a housemate: Alex's Mom, since they've become friends and they are both finding themselves alone with their children leaving the house – Alex and I, but also Josh, now that he is living with Mitchie and they are opening their own car repair shop.

Everything seems to finally go pretty well for everyone, very well I think when I look at Alex. The sun is illuminating his features, creating a play of shadows and light on his face and in his dark curls. It makes him look like an angel of darkness, my angel of darkness, my dark knight in shining armor, and when he looks back at me, I know everything is perfect; everything will be perfect. I may still not know exactly who I want to be, yet there is one thing I'm sure: whoever I am, I want to be with Alex.

My heart is beaming with love and happiness, and I wish I could capture this moment in a bubble: the sun shining, the road ahead, the music playing softly on the radio, everything about Alex...

"You are the best thing that's ever been mine," Alex hums along, his penetrating eyes fixing mine for a second, and right now I could ignite with happiness.

"The 'baddest bad boy' sings Taylor Swift's songs?" I giggle.

"Don't tell anyone!" He shushes me playfully. "But I gotta admit I may have listened to them when we had broken up. They make me think of you: they can be sweet and they can be badass too."

My heart constricts at the memories of those times, yet it quickly swells with even more love and bliss. Only Alex can do this!

At a loss for words, or maybe I have too many to say, I kiss his neck and up the line of his jaw. Feeling the burning electricity crackling in the air around us, I'm really tempted to go up to meet his sinful lips, but I let him watch the road and drive safely, as I know the road ahead in our life is bright and without any insurmountable bumps as long as we are together. Though right now, you might see Alex's Mustang take a bend on the road and pull off in a quiet area because what can I say?! We can't resist the Law of Attraction.

When I started writing this story, I never thought I would come this far and love so much writing. And I'm coming to the end with a little twinge to the heart, I will keep Elena and Alex in my heart forever, like a first love, but I'm also ready for new adventures. Yes, I'm already bursting with new ideas, and A NEW INTENSE LOVE STORY IS COMING REALLY SOON... ;)
