After saying goodbye to Quinn, Amelia returned home. Now that she was back in her bedroom, Amelia thought about telling Lexis and Zak about what had happened. First, she texted Lexis, who replied five minutes later.

Lexis: what??? So you found the woman’s book, and it’s about what’s happening to us right now?

Amelia: yep

Lexis: but… how does that happen? There’s no way someone could’ve… how… who would even know that that happened to us and be able to write a book and publish it that quickly. What else does it say?

Amelia: idk I haven’t read it yet. I’m gonna read it tomorrow.

Lexis: I told Quinn that maybe we should stop looking into this. I don’t really know what’s going on, but stuff is getting kinda creepy.

Amelia: well idk I mean it doesn’t seem like we’re in any danger…

Lexis: are u sure it’s not just a weird coincidence??

Amelia: I guess I’ll have to find that out :/ It’s pretty weird though

Lexis: yeah. Well if you find out anything else, let me know.

Amelia: ok. Oh, should I tell Zak?

Lexis: yea just warn him that it might freak him out

Amelia: ok cya at school :)

Amelia went over to her computer and emailed Zak about everything. After waiting a few minutes for a reply, Amelia decided to do something else. She paced her room, trying not to think about the book that she was going to read tomorrow. What was it going to talk about in twelve chapters? Who was the author? Would she see the mysterious woman again? Would Zak and Lexis go with her and Quinn to the beach to see her? Amelia decided to start reading the book right away. Flopping onto her bed, she opened the little book and continued reading.

I've been watching for a while, and it seems as if none of the children know that they are Seasons. I wondered whether or not they would be able to come to that conclusion by themselves, but it appears as though that will not be the case, hence my decision to leave them clues. Speaking of leaving them clues, you must know that I sometimes am not a very patient person. As I go through this process of finding potential Seasons, I like to leave the little clues, but at some point, if they solve enough of the clues, I say hello to them. I am always so eager to meet them and tell them about their powers…

The next day, Amelia brought the book to school. When it came time to eat lunch, Amelia announced that she was going to show them the book. She promptly dropped her bag on her seat and reached around in it. Her friends watched her excited smile fade into a confused frown. Quickly, Amelia began to pull out her textbooks, a reading book, a teal calculator, and a pink journal, just about completely emptying the contents of her bag. “I lost it,” she admitted softly.
