Time passed and it grew colder, Eddie missed Atlas dearly but was fine with letting him be happy. Though watching Atlas with his new friends made Eddie feel a pain in his heart, a feeling he had never felt before. He always tried avoiding watching Atlas because his heart couldn't handle it. Perhaps it was jealousy Eddie was feeling, he considered it but wanted it to stop, it hurt so much.

Eddie gathered enough money from that months shifts at the flower shop to be able to attend the trip. He hadn't had fun in years, and was looking forward to this experience. Because the school allowed Freshman to Juniors attending the trip, he'd see Atlas. And if he were to wish for one thing more, it would be to spend the trip with him. But Eddie didn't want to ruin Atlas's time with his own selfishness.

Eddie paid to go to the trip at school and was now walking home. A week without any interactions with Atlas felt out of the norm for Eddie. He had grown on Atlas and now he'd have to go back to normal.

"Yoo! Dude!" A voice called out.

Eddie was lost in his thoughts before being pulled back by the shoulder. "I'm talking to you man!" Danny grinned at Eddie. Behind him were a few other of his friends from the day Eddie and Danny first met.

"Let's go, talk to my friends and tell them how we are cool now." Danny whispered and turned back around. Danny let go of Eddie's shoulder and followed behind him into the alley.

"Isn't that the kid that beat you to a pulp the other day?" One of them asked.

"No, no, no! I told you, I wasn't feeling my best that day. But now me and him are cool! Right?" Danny looked over at Eddie waiting for a response.

"Yeah, sure." Eddie responded.

Danny sat on the floor and Eddie sat next to him with his legs crossed.
"When did this happen? Dan didn't seem so cool with it when he was cussing you out while you were gone that day." They admitted.

"Ahh, yes! But that's the past!" He assured. "Me and him are on good terms now."

"Aight then... What's your name?" They questioned, curiously staring at Eddie awaiting a response, so was Danny.

"I'm Eddie... Norris."

"No way!!! You're the kid to that rich guy?" They asked shocked.

"Jonathan Norris. Yes, I am." Eddie answered.

"And you have 3- no 2 siblings? I'm sure their names were sumthin like Nicolas n Reign..." Another one of them recalled. "I bet your life is great! I'd love to sleep on a pile of cash some day."

"Yeah..." Eddie looked down. He began feeling uncomfortable.

"You okay man?" Danny asked placing his hand on Eddie's shoulder.

"Yes, I've got to go home now though. It was fun meeting you all." Eddie grabbed his bag and stood up from where he was sitting.

"You sure? You don't look good to me." Danny got up and followed next to Eddie.

"Yes, I can assure you, I'm doing fine." Eddie glared at him.

"Woah- jeez, I was just trying to help." Danny stopped and stayed back with the others while Eddie walked away.

"Why'd I act like that? It's so unlike me to scare away friends..." Eddie thought. "My emotions have been out of control lately. I have to go back to normal somehow."

Eddie stopped at the front of his house and inhaled then exhaled. "I'll say sorry another time." He unlocked the front door and went inside.

It was the day Eddie would be going to the ski trip, though before that, Eddie had caught a cold. He really wanted to go though, so he tried to bear being ill.

Eddie had packed a few things for the trip, he had never gone skiing before and was afraid he'd hurt himself, so packed some bandages and some clothes.

While on the bus driving to their destination, Eddie could hear a bit laughing and talking from the back. He sat up front and alone, so it was somewhat quite. Eddie looked out the window at the scenery, he saw trees and snow. He came to the realization that it'd be Christmas soon, and though he thought he'd spend it with Atlas, he couldn't help but think again. Eddie tried to forget Atlas and move on, but wherever Eddie thought, Atlas would be there to accompany it.

Eddie fell asleep on the bus until they stopped at the resort.

At the room he was staying in, Eddie unpacked. The faculty had requested to be by the entrance for rules and about the place. Since Eddie hadn't packed much it'd be a quick move.

The view from the room Eddie stayed at was fantastic despite it being slightly dark out, he couldn't help but admire it. When finished unpacking, he went down and met up with a group of people waiting for more students.

A few more students were coming down from an elevator, but when the door to the elevator opened, it caught Eddie's attention. Atlas came out in his sleep wear and saw Eddie as well.

"We are all here? Alright now let's get too it!..." The worker shouted and continued talking.

Atlas and Eddie's eyes met, but he began feeling depressed once again. Atlas quickly turned away and walked far from Eddie.

"What did I do wrong? I want to fix it so bad." Eddie thought clenching his fists.

"Now good night children! We'll meet again tomorrow."  Students crowded around the elevators while Eddie attempted to approach Atlas though the maze of students.

As Eddie got closer and closer to Atlas, his heart began thumping, if there was one thing he wanted to do before he let go of Atlas, it was to tell him exactly how he felt and if Atlas would feel the same. Eddie needed the confirmation and did not want to be left in the dust.

Atlas was looking at Eddie with teary looking eyes. A face Eddie had never seen before, it made him want to comfort Atlas and make him feel better, but it was already so difficult to get through the mob of students. Then, in an instant of a student moving in the way of Eddie's vision, Atlas had gone. Eddie stood in place, regretful.

"Has the world been turning on me? Was it always like this?..." He thought to himself.
