As the birds were busily perching on the maize plants in an abundoned farmland, two lovers were practically wrestling with words."Don't you love me anymore?"cried the lady, "I love you and you know that but your love seems to be selfish" the man replied. They seemed to be really serious with what they said."You proclaim that you love me but you're not showing it. Why don't you want to take responsibility of our baby?" Samantha asked.
"Don't you want us to live happily together? We can have that happily ever after we've always dreamt of... but I'm just not ready to have a child yet. You understand me, right Samantha?"
"I do Eugene, but our child is our future together. Haven't you always wanted a happy family?" Samantha defended. Although Eugene appeared to be reluctant to listen, Samantha went on. " We will face a lot of trials, that's true, but we still have to hold on to this baby in my womb. He could be our very key to success" She said.
"You know what woman, do all you like. I'm out of here..."
Before she could say another word, he had already left.
While Samantha stood there, she became depressed and bit her fingers oblivious to what to do next. After all, she can't possibly raise a child alone, and she definitely isn't ready for an abortion... her mom would kill her! She drowned herself in tears and burdened herself with thoughts."Oh my God, now what am I going to do?" She said desperately.
After nearly crying her out, she finally embraced the situation and walked towards her mother's house.
"Mom! Mom!" she shouted even though her throat ached from crying all day. "Sam, what is it?" Her mom answered. "I need to tell you what happened... It's about Eugene and I, and our baby"
"Huh?!! You .. you aren't saying... you can't possibly mean... you're..."
"Pregnant, but Eugene doesn't want to be a part of my baby's life. He ran away, he's gone now and I may never see him again... and I don't want to see him again! I want to raise this child, alone!" Even Samantha wasn't sure about what she had just said but there was one thing she was sure of, and it's that she's not gonna abort her unborn child.
