"no, no, no, no!" jimin screeched, panicking as he pulled his shirt over his head and stumbled over his feet. "i can't be late... shit!"
he ran to his bus stop. his shirt was almost falling off and he was tying his tie as he ran. he was an absolute mess but he couldn't be late for an interview. that would just be so unprofessional.
that word. professional. it gave the boy far too many bad memories but he waved them aside. new beginnings! he thought as he tried to remain hopeful. new job, new beginnings!
he walked onto the bus, staring at himself in the window. he was so disheveled that he shivered. gross. jimin quickly fixed his shirt and finished tying his tie, tucking his shirt into his pants and fixing his collar. perfect.
he saw some more people getting onto the bus every few stops but got bored of people watching. just a little longer until he would reach his destination, so he decided to try to pass the time playing with his phone.
he dug into his pocket, fishing for the little device, and pulled it out. inputting his password, he tapped on an idle game and began to play. after a few minutes his eyes were beginning to hurt. why did he have to forget his glasses? never mind that, he thought, going back to playing his game.
after a few more minutes, his eyes were really aching. he took a break and looked up, spotting a pair of eyes staring at him. dark, mysterious eyes clouded in wonder. quite pretty but really strange. the boy furrowed his eyebrows, deciding to ignore him. it's better to ignore creepy people on buses than to fuel their weirdness.
his stop finally came and he ran off the bus, people following close behind him. he almost sprinted to the building a couple blocks down but he stopped himself before he could make another stupid decision. instead, he speed walked.
as he continued down the sidewalk, he turned off his phone. it'd be even more unprofessional to have it turned on and get spammed with messages. that would just have to wait!
he turned and thought he saw that man from before following but he must've been seeing things. he blinked and rubbed his eyes and the man wasn't there. just seeing things, he told himself.
he stepped into the building and walked to the front desk.
"hi, ma'am! i'm park jimin, here for the interview?"
"ah, yes! jimin! right this way, please." she walked him to the elevator where they got in but for some reason, she left almost immediately. strange, he thought, isn't she supposed to bring me up? but he just pressed the button she instructed him to before she left and up he went.
it ran smoothly until there was some sort of turbulence. that can't be right since it's a sunny day, jimin frowned. he held onto the railing and suddenly the doors opened.
the hallway was lit up in a reddish hue, making it creepily mysterious. he walked out of the elevator and continued down the hall to the room number he was instructed to go to and knocked.
no answer.
jimin knocked again and this time, the doors swung wide open. he gasped and took a step back before shaking it off and entering the room.
"hello?" he said shakily. "i'm here for the interview?"
a man in the very back of the dim-litted room spun around in his chair and placed his elbows on his desk. those eyes...
"hello, mr jimin. would you like to begin?"
jimin audibly gulped. this wasn't going to end well, was it?
"take a seat. this won't take long."
