it had been days since yoongi's last appearance. the last time jimin really saw him was in that crazy dream. he had work to go back to that morning, but he was worried. there were so many things that could go wrong with taehyung's plan, but he didn't want to overthink it.

it'd been days since the weird fly swarming, too. he went back to his apartment after staying at taehyung's place for the night and saw that there were no flies. zero, zip, nothing. he wondered if the incident had anything to do with his possessor?

he shook his head, pulling the car over and looking up at the great MYG building. he thought the company name was familiar when he first starting working there, but he never would've guessed it was his favorite idols' company. everything had been so wild ever since he got his own place.

jimin stepped out of his car and walked straight into the building. "good morning," he smiled to the secretary. the secretary smiled right back. he walked to the elevator and stepped inside. still no yoongi. he didn't know what to do or what to think. it was all so strange.

and then, he was standing in front of those infamous doors. before he could touch the handles, the doors swung open, and around spun yoongi. jimin wanted to walk right over and punch yoongi in his pretty-boy demon jaw, but something was stopping him. something was physically stopping him.

"you're angry," yoongi said. "which is understandable. you must have many questions."

jimin frowned as yoongi pushed his body to sit in one of the chairs in front of him.

"please, ask away."

"what the fuck was that dream?" was the first thing jimin could say. that's all he had been thinking about, plus the flies. everything was just so weird.

"dream? jimin, i've stayed outside of that realm for aeons. what are you talking about?" yoongi asked. he seemed genuinely confused.

"wait, what? but you were in my dream !"

"oh, no, this is exactly what i feared."

"what? what are you talking about?" jimin felt exasperated.

"have you experienced any other strange occurrences? weird happenings?"

"well, there was some sort of biblical fly swarming in my apartment, but i guess you don't have anything to do with that either, huh?"

"it's them," yoongi said. "i've been observing you. there have been signs of them around but that's the icing on the cake." yoongi seemed proud of himself.

jimin chuckled to himself. "nice one," he said. "but- wait. if you've been 'observing' me, you saw-"

"yes, i saw it. i didn't know you thought of me that way," yoongi smirked, resting his head in the palm of his hand.

"i- i don't-"

yoongi laughed, the kind of silent laugh where you didn't know if they were really laughing or crying. "of course you don't. i just enjoy teasing you, mr park. but... back to what i was saying. they're coming and they want you."

"who are they?" jimin was starting to freak out. his heart was pumping in the pit of his stomach and he felt like he could throw up.

"they're divine. more 'biblical shit.' you're in danger."

"wait, you heard us?"

"yes, i did. i heard everything. and i felt everything, jimin. and you most definitely won't be getting your soul back."

jimin's face was heating up. he mouth was twitching as he stood to his feet. "and why not?"

yoongi crossed his arms. "because i said so."

"yoongi, i deserve to belong to myself. i'm not your pet, so, please."

yoongi looked away in distaste. "you're not getting it back, and that's final."

jimin grumbled. it was like he was talking to a wall. he'd been through a lot lately and he was growing very, very tired. all he could think was, why can't you just let me have this? he had no freedom, no safety, and he didn't even have himself anymore. he felt his eyes tearing up.

yoongi slowly looked back at jimin. his hands were in fists and he looked like he could cry any second now. and then he did. jimin was crying. and yoongi didn't know what to do.

in all the years before him, the people who had their souls taken from them have cried, but none of them acted like jimin. none were so bold as to oppose him, and yoongi found that amusing. was he going soft? he couldn't be.

"s-stop that," yoongi scoffed, looking away again. "no crying is allowed in my office." he pointed to the sign on his desk that previously said "no swearing."

jimin sniffled, trying time stop himself. he felt like an idiot, crying in front of his boss. he wiped his eyes and tried to hold his breath, but it only made things worse. jimin started bawling. the pressure of everything— the fact that he was in danger and he was lied to by his best friend and everything was coming together into one big, terrible, explosive problem— jimin was absolutely bawling.

he slowly sank back into his seat and laid his head in his hands. his shoulders shook as he cried.

yoongi was immensely uncomfortable. he was considering his options: eat his soul and he stops crying, kill him and he stops crying, or merely console him. the first few options would be the most effective, but something about jimin made yoongi actually want to protect him. he shook his head and stood up, walking around to where jimin sat.

jimin felt something on his shoulder, startling him. he slowly looked up, wiping his eyes as he tried to control his breathing.

"you just want your soul, right?"

jimin nodded.

"i can give it to you, but then we'll lose the link. i won't be able to protect you from them."

jimin was determined. "i don't care," he choked out. "please, just give it back to me."

and that's what yoongi did. he snapped his fingers, and a vial appeared in his hand. a glowing, airy substance was inside. yoongi popped off the lid and the substance flew toward jimin, seemingly examining him, before entering. and then it was done.

jimin had his soul back, and yoongi found himself regretting everything.
