with a snap of yoongi's fingers, jimin was in his own little office with a stack of papers. his name was even on his desk. the boy groaned. what has he done?
"y-yoongi?" he called out, unsure of the rules of all this.
the boy appeared next to him nearly startling jimin out of his seat.
"what is it?" the devil sighed, obviously not enjoying the fact that he was just summoned out of doing whatever he was doing.
"well... how exactly do i do this?" he asked, voice slightly raising an octave as he asked.
yoongi smiled out of nowhere. "glad you asked. most people don't make it this far!"
jimin was shocked. he was still testing him? what the hell did he mean, most people don't make it this far?
"i am testing you. i'll be testing you until the end of the day," yoongi smiled. "and i would have eaten you if you remained in your seat idly. i'm impressed by your ethic. so, please arrange these papers by date and color! there's yellow tinted paper and the pink ones. please sort the two and stack them from the newest to oldest." his face dropped again. "and then i'll have to fill them all out."
jimin grimaced. that's tough. "thank you, yoongi... sir? i'll get to work right away, then."
"good. i have nothing better to do than to watch you so..." yoongi snapped his fingers and a chair appeared beneath him as he was suddenly sitting, "get to work."
jimin didn't question it anymore as he got straight to work. yoongi's eyes bored into him as he sorted the papers, one pile yellow and the other pink. the staring was beginning to distract the younger. he grimaced and continued to sort, now sorting by date since he finished with the piles.
"are you really going to watch me this whole time?"
"yep. it's intriguing, though. nobody has ever sorted it in this way. well... not many have made it this far," yoongi reminded himself. "very good."
jimin nearly keened at the praise but he didn't let it get to him. he was determined to finish his first day of work and get that coin. as he was nearing completion, he noticed a few papers that he missed. he let out a quiet breath and calmly sorted them, finishing it up and placing them in their designated piles. by the time he had finished, his forehead was covered in sweat and his back hurt. but he was done.
"excellent. now... my turn." the demon waved his finger so the pages would fly to him one by one as he used his free hand to scribble on them.
jimin watched in awe. he should've been scared but he was too curious. far too curious for his own good, perhaps, but he didn't really care. he wanted to learn more about this man.
and that's when it clicked.
"you were following me, weren't you?"
"perhaps i was." yoongi replied, barely answering. "perhaps i wasn't. it's none of your business, really."
jimin's eyes hardened. "you were following me, of course it's my business."
"humans are quite brave, aren't they? i could eat you at any given time yet you still give such attitude?"
"when you threaten me i think i have good reason to talk back, don't you?"
"touché. i was following you because you're pretty."
jimin didn't know what to say. "thank you...?"
"you're welcome. and you're hired. you're interesting, jimin. most humans wouldn't dare talk back in fear of me eating them, most humans wouldn't sort it the way you did, and most humans wouldn't answer my scenario the way you had. you're unique," yoongi mused, eyeing the other up and down. "i'll be excited to work with you."
and with a snap, jimin was back in his apartment, breathless and confused.
