jimin decided to continue to work next to yoongi as his equal, and not as his possession. it was refreshing— he had his soul back, he was getting himself back on track and he just felt lovely.

yoongi, on the other hand, was growing more and more paranoid. he would follow jimin rather than observe through jimin's eyes and he was constantly asking questions about jimin's thoughts. it seemed he was missing being inside jimin's head. jimin was, after all, the most interesting human yoongi had ever met.

jimin and taehyung were hanging out more. taehyung had lots of stories about the years he had lived and jimin loved to listen to them. everything was going well, and no strange things were happening.

until today.

today, he woke up and his room had spiders crawling all over the walls. today, he ran out of his room in fear, going straight to work and straight to yoongi. today, jimin lost his mind.

"there- there's spiders! yoongi, there's spiders! they're everywhere! they're-"

"jimin?" yoongi spun around in his chair and immediately stood up, walking over and gently pushing jimin down to sit next to him.

jimin took a deep breath. "there's spiders all over my apartment. i came here as quick as i could- i- i'm sorry i'm not in business attire, it's just-"

yoongi frowned. "don't worry about that... they're here, jimin."

frankly, jimin forgot all about the others. the divine others. he thought everything was fine. it had been days and he thought everything was back to normal... but what's normal when your boss is a demon and your best friend's your guardian angel?

"what? they're here?"

"they want you, jimin," yoongi said, letting out a shaky breath. "they want you because you're close to me."

jimin's eyes widened. there was obviously a lot about yoongi that he didn't know. "what do you mean? i'm close to you...? do you have beef with the gods or something?"

"well... yes. the divine others are basically gods of the underworld, all of different backgrounds. greek, norse, and egyptian... i don't want you getting hurt, jimin."

"i won't get hurt. you're here," jimin said, naively. he didn't know.

"i can't protect you, though," yoongi sighed.

"what? you—?"

"we're not connected anymore, jimin. i can't protect you from anything unless i have your soul."

jimin exhaled. that's all he could do. he was so stupid— so naive for thinking that everything would be okay with his soul and without yoongi.

"you're not tricking me, right?" jimin asked, warily.

"i know i've tricked you many times before. after all, i am a demon. but this time, it's all the truth. when i took your soul for the first time, i never planned on giving it back, but then they appeared. and i didn't want to give it back even more because i knew they would get you. i knew they would try to hurt you. but now, there's nothing i can do to help."

jimin didn't know yoongi felt that way. he knew that yoongi was a demon asshole, but demon assholes had feelings, too. and yoongi was good at heart. well, as good as a demon could get. maybe he should give him another chance.

jimin debated a little longer before finally speaking. "i'll give you my soul," he agreed. "but on one condition! you have to give it back as soon as the others are defeated."

yoongi looked up, surprised. "you're sure?"

"yes, i'm sure. do what you have to do."

yoongi looked away for a moment, breathing in and out, and then snapped his fingers. he sighed as the pen and paper appeared in front of jimin. yoongi knew jimin didn't like this, but it was the only way he could protect him.

jimin signed, determined, and suddenly, the room was flashing blue. jimin's soul was sucked into yoongi's vial and it was done. jimin lost his soul one more time.

but then, the room began to shake. the doors all slammed shut, the windows locked and three people appeared.

jimin had no idea who they were, but suddenly, yoongi's voice rang through his head again. "left is anubis, center is hades and right is hel." jimin had a weird tingly feeling in the pit of his stomach. he guessed it was just that he sort of missed hearing yoongi's voice so close to him.

'how did you get them so upset?' jimin thought.

'let's just say i've borrowed a few things i shouldn't have.'

the lights flickered until they finally came to a stop. the room was colored a blood red and yoongi had an arm out in front of jimin. he put his arm out to protect him. jimin didn't know what to think, but he welcomed it either way because it was going to keep him alive.

"give us the boy and you're off the hook, yoongi," anubis said, inching closer.

"don't make us kill him here and now," hel smiled wickedly.

jimin shivered. their voices were so strange. they had the type of voice which made you want to listen and believe them- or that was just them using their powers. either way, jimin felt himself wanting to obey, but yoongi's hold over him was stronger. he felt himself obeying yoongi instead, which was equally as strange. it all felt so weird.

"you will not touch him," yoongi growled, his fiery horns appearing as an unnatural red aura surrounded him. 'stay back, and don't listen to them. i'll keep you safe.'

jimin could only nod in response. he was too shocked to even speak. he felt himself yearning to listen to the others, but all he could do was sit back and obey yoongi... his possessor— his owner. it felt so strange to be back at square one, but something inside him was enjoying it. it was twisted, he knew, but he liked having someone to control him and he especially enjoyed someone who could protect him. he didn't know what to think. he was really losing his mind.

but then, out of nowhere, taehyung appeared.

jimin's eyes widened as taehyung whispered to him, "we'll keep you safe."

and then, the five of them disappeared. no anubis, no hel, no hades, no yoongi, and no taehyung. jimin was in the office by himself.
