'this punk is really your favorite singer?' yoongi's voice rung throughout jimin's head.

'of course! he's so talented and, whew, i would let him curb stomp me and-'

'curb stomp you?!' but then, yoongi's voice transitioned back to reality. "taeyang is one of our top suspects. he's close with most idols under the company but almost always avoids the chairmen, all while being very close with the staff."

"i see. what's the plan to take this kind of thing down?" jin said.

"i don't know if we really can..." namjoon frowned.

"is there anything i can do for you, master?" jungkook murmured, fiddling with the hems of his sleeves.

"no, bunny baby. later, okay?" seokjin cooed, playing with the younger's hair. it almost sounded as if jungkook purred as he leaned into the older's touch. jimin was completely confused by their actions. they treated the boy as if he was their pet, but he guessed he really was.

"there's definitely a way to combat this situation: forthrightness," yoongi spoke.

"sir, would you like me to get a hold of him? i could arrange a meeting, if you'd like," jimin suggested. wow, he couldn't believe how professional he sounded. he gave himself a mental pat on the back.

"that would be great, thank you."

namjoon looked so confused by them. his eyes were moving between them so quickly it was hard to see his pupils. jimin certainly wasn't yoongi's pet, so he didn't understand why the other boy had to be one.

————

"you seemed very confused earlier. your thoughts were atrociously loud." yoongi groaned as he drove them back to his building.

"since you heard me, then, could you answer them?"

yoongi sighed, "fine. i'll start with those men. as i told you earlier, the older ones were namjoon and seokjin and the youngest was jungkook."

"why-"

"i'm getting there," yoongi sighed, raising a hand in the air to sigma jimin to shut up. "namjoon and seokjin are both like me. they co-own an entertainment company and jungkook willingly sold his soul to them. i have no clue as to why, but he did."

"okay, then why-"

"i'm getting there. when jungkook sold his soul, namjoon and seokjin gave him the role as their pet. it's very common for demons to be the masters of those who sold their soul. luckily for you, i'm uninterested in that."

"what do they keep them for— the pets?"

"usually for labor. house cleaning, cooking, and the demon's own jobs. sometimes they even use them. i've never felt those urges— but it's fascinating to ponder, i suppose."

"o-oh?"

"maybe i'll feel what they feel someday... and since we're connected, i could feel it through you."

that's fucking weird, jimin shivered. "okay then," he chuckled breathlessly, "would you look at that! we're already here."

"correct, captain obvious."

"how do you know about that—?"

"i'm old but i'm not out of the loop. come, we have work to do."

jimin sighed and stepped out of the car. the men walked together, jimin lugging all of yoongi's items. the older opened the door and allowed the heavily panting man inside.

"why can't you just demon-magic these and make them float or something?" jimin struggled.

"would that be ideal for you? you are, after all, my assistant. you are getting paid for this."

jimin groaned in response. yoongi was right... he heaved another sigh and walked into the elevator after his boss. suddenly, the weight of the items became bearable, and then they were completely weightless. he looked around frantically to see who was doing this.

yoongi.

the demon averted his gaze, eyes obviously glowing red. the doors opened and yoongi speed walked out of the machine and down the hall, bringing all of his stuff floating alongside him.

jimin had to suppress a smile. that was actually kind of sweet. who knew? his boss really did have a heart. wait, did demons have hearts? and suddenly, jimin was running after his boss.

"wait up!"
