Medical Ward

Present
Percy awoke with a jolt. Looking around, he saw the familiar sight of white canvas that made up Camp Half-Blood's med ward. The only thing unfamiliar were the large, black wings pressed between his bed and back.

"You have got to stop visiting this place. You haven't slept a night in a cabin and this is your third day at camp!" A blond boy in the orange t-shirt of the camp walked up to Percy's bed. "I take it you've figured out your godly parentage?"

"Yeah, I have an idea. Thanatos doesn't have a cabin here, does he?" Percy asked.

"No, we usually don't get campers from minor gods."

At moment, Chiron walked in. "I believe you'll find a bunk ready for you in the Hades cabin. It's unused, and we won't get any children from that particular god. You won't have any use for it now, though. I believe Annabeth wants you to accompany herself and Thalia to meet with the satyr Grover to pick up two demigods from a school dance a few miles from here. Annabeth wishes to see how you preform on a mission.

"Okay, " Percy agreed. "I'll go."

Annabeth POV

Percy sat behind the wheel of an old Mercedes 450 sedan that was parked near the camp van. Percy's wings had turned into wing tattoos on his back, enabling him to look human. Annabeth hadn't been so sure about taking it, but since Percy looked closest to 16 (he had told everyone that he was 15, he looked like he could be) his choice overrode Annabeth's Also, Thalia had found an AC/DC cassette in the glove compartment. If that didn't sell her, nothing would.
So, that's how Annabeth ended up sitting in the back seat of a car that was almost as old as her dad, nearly choking on the stench of gasoline, going deaf from the horrible duet of Brian Johnson and Thalia, and sliding across the bench seat whith each swerve Percy made. He was a terrible driver, to put it plainly. Street-side caution signs seemed to be more of a suggestion than an actual law to him, adding something else to the already long list of what she didn't like about Percy.
Since coming to camp, he'd done nothing but get hurt and drool, and when he wasn't laying on a medical bed he was either shooting Annabeth's boyfriend in the head with an arrow or trying to kill her and Thalia in a car accident. He didn't seem all that nice, either. Percy swerved around another car at nearly seventy miles an hour on a fifty mile an hour road, slamming Annabeth into the inside of the door again and making her wish this heap of junk had working seatbelts.

"Turn left here!" Thalia yelled over the radio. "That's the school!"
Percy hit the brakes and skidded into the parking lot, leaving black rubber marks in his trail. The car somehow came to a rest perfectly in a parking space.
"Just as planned," Percy said with pride. Annabeth seriously doubted that his parking wasn't accident. "But where's our goat-boy contact?"

"Over there," Thalia pointed to Grover as he walked out of a side door to the school.
Grover waved at them to come over. "Who's this guy?" He asked, gesturing at Percy.

"Percy," Thalia said. "Son of Thanatos. He's been at camp for a few days, this is his tryout mission."

"Okay," Grover nodded. "Let's head on in."

No sooner had we gotten in then we ran into a man and woman walking through the hallway.

"What are you doing here?" The woman asked them. I briefly panicked at being caught, but Percy reacted instantly.

"We're here for the dance." Percy told her. That was partially true, Annabeth thought.

The woman frowned slightly. "I don't recognize any of you but Grover. You have to attend school here to go to the dance."
