The days seemed to turn into months for Kathryn. She had nothing to do in the woods.
It had been six days since she had died in Abe's Antiques. She found herself dying of hypothermia.
Yes, literally dying.
Today however, was going to be different; she was going to do something really stupid: leave the woods and wander New York.
As she crept towards the edge of the treeline, her nervousness only grew.
And then, she took off running

Kathryn couldn't wipe the stupid grin off of her face.
A blanket of snow covered the city. It was, truly beautiful.
Kathryn walked all the way to Central Park. Once there, she twirled around, letting the snow gather in her hair.
She sat down on one of the many benches at just watched the snow fall.
Snow was one of the few things that always, without a doubt, fascinated her. Thus, making Winter her favorite season.
Kathryn drew her knees up to her chest, completely content, when the bench creaked, signifying that someone has sat down beside her.
After a moment, she looked over to see who she was sitting next to.
Her eyes widened in horror when she who it was:
Sitting next to her, a book in hand, was the man from the antique shop; the one who had witnessed her disappear.
Kathryn let out a small gasp, causing the man next to her to look up from his book.
When he did, his eyes widened in shock.
Within moments, Kathryn was up and sprinting as fast as her legs could carry her.
"Wait! Please! Stop!"
She heard the man's frantic shouts, but only ran faster.
Attempting to blend in with the countless crowds, she shouldered her way through the people.
Looking over her shoulder, she saw that the man was still in pursuit. When she looked in front of her, she was unpleasantly surprised that the crowds were thinning out and she would soon be quite easy to spot.
Having no other choice, she kept running and soon rounded a corner.
"No!" She cursed herself.
Around the corner, had been a short alley, with a wall, preventing her from running further.
Scanning the area, she looked for somewhere to go; somewhere to hide.
Just as the man rounded the corner, she hopped on top of a dumpster, and jumped for a fire escape.
Her hands barely made the last rung of the ladder.
Kathryn pulled herself up the rest of the way and began to climb, stumbling all the way.
The man had now closed much of the distance between them. He too jumped for the fire escape; he too made the jump and began to climb.
In a nervous panic, Kathryn kept stumbling on the stairs.
When she finally reached the roof, she sprinted across it and jumped the small gap to the neighboring building.
Unfortunately, as she landed, she lost her balance and pitched forward.
Tucking her head in, she tried to prevent injury by launching into a shoulder roll as she made impact with the hard rooftop.
A sickening pop came from her shoulder as she tried to roll.
She cried out in pain and tried to get herself back up.
However, she didn't have the strength or energy to push herself up.
Still frantic and panicked, Kathryn tried to crawl away, but was terribly off balance with only one arm to use.
Suddenly, she felt a tug on her leg, and was sent sprawling back to the hard rooftop.
"No! Please!" She shouted.
Kathryn rolled over onto her back, only to see the man panting and out of breath.
"I'm- I'm terribly sorry, Please forgive me..." He panted.
"No! Please!" She screamed.
It seemed, that was all she could say in her current state.
What was going to happen to her? She definitely couldn't escape in this condition!
