3rd POV
As usually on a friday night, Evie was going out.
Mal used to go out too, just for fun, with some random guys who'd ask her, so not anything serious. But since she got pregnant she hadn't been on any date anymore.
Now she just hung out in her dorm every single weekend, with her filthy pj's on and ten bags of chips.
The bell rang as sign that lunch break started. Mal was walking to her locker to put away her books when someone called her name.
She turned around and saw a boy with short black hair and beautiful green eyes walking towards her.
'Mal, hey, how are you?' he greeted.
'Hey, Eric,' Mal greeted him back. 'Good, good... how are you?'
Eric was a, well, far from ugly boy, who sat behind her in chemistry. Mal never noticed, but he was always staring at her and daydreaming about her and him together.
They always had long conversations during the lessons with each other and had some good laughs, but he never actually got the courage to ask her out, until now...
'I'm doing fine, thanks,' he said back. 'But, uhm, listen, I know this really cool bar downtown and I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me tonight?'
Mal looked at him for a few seconds without saying anything. She was pregnant and now a boy she liked finally asked her out.
She wasn't gonna let this slip through her fingers just because she was pregnant. This was her chance.
'Sure,' she said smiling.
'Great,' he said a little surprised she actually wanted to go out with him. 'I'll pick you up at eight.'
'See ya,' Mal said.

'You've- got a date?' Evie asked concerned.
'Yeah,' Mal said. 'What's so bad about that?'
'Well, maybe when he finds out you're pregnant...' Evie said. 'I don't think a 16 year old boy wants to date a girl who's pregnant with another guy's child.'
'E, he finally asked me out, I'm not letting this go because I'm pregnant, okay,' Mal said. 'I'm just gonna give it a shot.'
'I know, and I'm really happy for you, but I just don't want you to get hurt,' she said.
'I know that and I'm prepared for it,' Mal said. 'But, uh, where are you going?'
'I'm going to some restaurant downtown with Mathias,' Evie said.
'Mathias? You mean that guy from the tourney team?' Mal asked.
Evie nodded, while looking through the closet for something to wear.
'And you think that I'm the one who's gonna get hurt,' Mal said.
'What are you talking about? He's a good guy,' Evie said.
'He's not a good guy, E, everyone knows he's not,' Mal told her. 'He even lost count of how many girlfriends he's had.'
'That are just rumors, M,' Evie said. 'I'll be fine.'
'Whatever you say, E,' Mal said.
Mal was looking in her jewellery box, but couldn't find her necklace.
'O dang it, I left my necklace at Carlos and Jay's place,' Mal said frustrated.
'Go get it then, you've only got 5 minutes left before he gets here,' Evie said.
