I was waiting for the guys in the lobby. I wanted to greet them so we could start our date. I was pretty excited.

I was standing alone when I felt someone tap my shoulder.

"What's a pretty lady like you doing here alone?" As I turned around, I was met with a smirking Brent.

"Hey, how are you?"

"I'm good. You?"

"Good."

We all gathered together and said hello.

"Well, as all of you know, or at least I hope you know, I'm an architect. I work here in New York City in one of the biggest architecture offices in the world. So today, I wanted to show you some of my favorite architectural places here in NYC. Lets go."

We exited the hotel and started walking to our first destination. Shawn came up to me and laced his finger with mine. We walked hand in hand.

"Are you liking New York so far?"

"Yes. It's a beautiful place."

"I hope that you'll like it even more after today."

We arrived to our first stop.

"Hey guys. This is our first stop. Welcome to the Flatiron Building."

"I've only seen it on movies

"I've only seen it on movies." Alexander said.

"This is a 22-story building and it is 285- foot tall. This building was finished in 1902 and its architectural style is renaissance revival."

"That's pretty cool. Isn't it a Historic Landmark?" Josh asked.

"Yeah, it is a US National Historic Landmark and one of the few skyscrapers north of 14th street."

"Do you know who designed it?" Josh asked.

I chuckled. "Of course I do. It was designed by Daniel Burnham, an architect from Chicago."

"That's funny. I would have thought that it would've been designed here in NYC." Will said as he got closer to me.

"Not necessarily. You know, skyscrapers were actually invented in Chicago. A lot of people think they started here, but the didn't." I smiled at him. "I remember the first time I came here to New York and I was just blown away by the design and the intricate location of this building."

"I mean, it is amazing that they were able to build something in the corner." Theo said.

"Yeah, I really like the rounded corners of this building. That is something iconic that everyone remembers. It really stands out."

"Yeah." Josh replied.

"Well, lets take some pictures and let's go to our second destination."
