After taking some calming medicine Wendy had given them, Seulgi's father decided there was only one option. Despite how hurt he was, he still loved his daughter, and the thought of actually having grandchildren was slightly exciting. But he also knew Seulgi needed to learn, and came up with a final decision.
"Since you're thinking in such a way, I want you to start living by yourself. You are twenty-four, at the age to be able to live on your own, and if you're going to keep the child, I suggest you start saving for it as well. I will do my part as a father and grandfather, but I expect you to be able to provide the rest. Especially since your saying you will have that man by your side, I'm guessing you may not need that much help from outsiders."
Seulgi was happy with this decision. She still got to keep her baby, family and Taeyong. Speaking of who, she decided to tell before she moves out of her parents home. She called him, hoping he wasn't too busy again. Luckily, he wasn't.
"Yong~ I want us to meet up. Are you free?"
"Uhm... Yes, I am. I'll meet you at three, at the coffee shop near your work."
He cut the call right away, and Seulgi knew something was off by the way he sounded. She decided to let it go, knowing the news of their child would make him feel much much better. She got ready to leave, taking the record and picture into her bag as well, and headed out to the coffee shop.
She sat with some lemonade, since the doctor said caffeine was a bad thing for the baby, and waited for a few minutes before Taeyong came in. Seulgi looked at him smiling, but he didn't. He seemed tired and distraught, something she never saw in him before. He sat across her, and hung his head low for a while, worrying Seulgi more and more. But before she could ask or say anything, he spoke up.
"Seulgi... I- Sorry, but I'm breaking it off."
As if the whole world around her fell, like her heart had been ripped into fine dust, Seulgi froze at his words. Hearing nothing, Taeyong finally looked up at her, still with a dark expression. Seeing his face, she shook her head, looking at him in awe.
"What... What do you mean?"
"Us, we have to break up. I'm sorry..."
"B-But why?"
"I can't tell you... But I don't want to give you false hope either. I want you to move on with your life."
"Taeyo-" she choked on her saliva, too caught up to speak, "what about all those things you told me? All those promises? You can't just come I'm here an-"
"I guess I can't keep any. I need to go now, I'm sorry Seulgi."
Just like that, he got up and left, looking the same as he did when he came in. Seulgi couldn't move from her seat, her hands shivering on the table while her breathing ragged. She couldn't process anything at all, everything around her a blur.
All those dreams of her future, crushed.
All those plans she had, wasted.
All the scenes she pictured in her mind, cut off.
She couldn't think at all, her mind going completely blank. Her phone vibrated several times, but she was too senseless to even feel it next to her hand.
About an hour passed, and she was still in her seat, looking down at her skirt where a pool had created from her eyes. Wendy finally found her, after trying to reach her for so long. Not only was she relieved to see Seulgi, she was shocked at her state. She sat next to her, turning her friend to look at her.
"Seulgi what happened? I've been trying to reach you for so long. Why are you crying?"
Seulgi stared at her blank, and suddenly cried out loud this time.
"He... left me..."
"What!?!"
"Taeyong... He broke up with me... He broke his promises, his words were empty... He... He lied Wendy... That A**HOLE LIED!" she yelled gaining attention from people as she started to lazily hit Wendy. Wendy tried her best to calm her down, but to no avail, for she herself was just as shocked.
"Is it... because of the baby?" she asked, when Seulgi suddenly scoffed.
"What baby? I didn't say sh*t and he comes in, breaks up, and just walks out!"
Wendy pulled her up, and with all her strength dragged Seulgi to her car to drive to her own apartment. She then helped her to the bed, and left her by her own for a while. While Seulgi laid crying, Wendy sat next to her watching her, thinking about what happened. Something definitely wasn't adding up. She knew Taeyong, and no matter how much she warned Seulgi, she knew for a fact this wasn't like him at all. She was working as an intern at their company, of course only Taeyong knowing who she was, but they kept it a secret. She was an assistant for now, so that when she gets her degree, she could start working for what she desired.
And being Taeyong's assistant, she knew his ways and personality, and what he did was not at all like him. She knew if he ever really broke up with Seulgi, his words would be crystal clear, and they would have serious discussions about it.
Seulgi went quiet and still, only her body raising up and down to the rhythm of her breathing. Wendy pulled her to face herself, and sat her up to hug her. "We should go back now. Your parents must be worried why your out so long."
"I can't..." Seulgi spoke quietly. "I can't go, they'll hate me. I need to move out."
Wendy looked at her, hoping what she said wasn't serious. "Seulgi you can't do that now. Taeyong's not here anymore. How will you live?"
"If- If it's OK, I'll stay here with you... But I don't want to tell anyone about this... I feel so ashamed, so foolish and stupid right now, I can't face the embarrassment when people start asking questions. And my parents... Their reputation is going to go down because of me."
