I sit here on my bed, alone... curtains closed and door locked. My eyes are tearstained and my cheeks are red and puffy. I hate my life. I look at my wrists. The scars, the fresh cuts. I sob loudly into my pillow, praying that the muffled sobs wouldn't be heard.
Of course... once again, my prayers weren't answered. "Hannah!" I heard Alyssa call... I mentally swore to myself and groaned. "What?" I tried to say as casual as possible. "Get your filthy self out here!" She yelled, pounding on my door. "Why, so I can be screamed at again? if so, then I'll have to pass." I said back. I could hear her trying to open the locked door. "Get out here now!" I flinched at the sudden rage in her voice.
I sighed and got up, pulling down my sleeves and wincing at the pain as I walked to the door.
I walk out to see my Aunt, my dad and Alyssa. "Look who's here! The rat of the family..." My aunt slurred. She was drunk. My entire family was. If only my mother had been here to see this, she wouldn't have allowed me to stay.
But of course, she's not here... she's dead, and that's what she has for been 3 years. I've come to face the facts after three long, depressing, hate filled years.
Have I ever tried to join her? Of course. But for some reason, this demented family decides to keep me in this torturous jail called life.
"You're a sin!" She scoffs again. I take a deep breath to hold back my tears. "I'm not a rat, or a sin." I mutter dangerously low. "You are a demented child! You where never supposed to be like this! Your mother would have never approved!" I felt a tear roll down my cheek as those words stabbed me in the stomach. "She would have loved me!" I yelled, finally having enough. "She was my mother, she wouldn't care what I looked like or what music I listen to, or who I hang out with! She'd love me either way!" My dad decided to step in. "Don't you talk to your aunt in that tone!" He yelled getting in my face. "You see that brat, nobody loves you!" My sister added. I was trapped, swarmed by the hatred."You are exactly like her!" Aunt Marline started up again. "A filthy animal! A disgrace to the human nature!" I blew my top.
"You can say whatever you want to me, but don't you DARE talk about my mother! She was a lovely woman, better than all of you! YOU are the disgusting ones! She is better than all of you combined! And if she where here, she would have left with me by now." I said only about a foot from Marline. I suddenly felt a sharp impact to my face. I had been slapped. I nearly fell back onto my sister from the strength.
After I recovered I stood up tall and spoke.
"That's it..." I whispered. "That's it!!" I could see the fear in everyone's eyes as I backed away to look at all of them. "I'm an adult! I only stayed around because I pitied you! I believed that there was still some good in all of you, that maybe just maybe, I could help you recover from your disgusting and drunken state! But I realize now that you are all FAR too gone. So goodbye. I hope you have a lovely life ruining yourself. You may do that to yourselves, but I don't have to take it anymore. I'm leaving... And their is NOTHING you can ever do or say to stop me." I yelled.
With that I stormed out of the house, grabbing my purse.
