"Yes, " I breathed out softly and held out a hand.

I brought the phone to my ear and turned.

"Hello-" I heard him softly laugh into my ear. I was standing stiffly but a small green was on my face as I said "My friend, Peggy--"

"Oh that was Peggy."

Peggy was an amatuer golfer and writer, Barbara was fashion editor, and Vivien was just behind me as the top socialite but won the stupid Queen of the Debs. We are all close friends, our children are friends or at least friendly. We left deb diaries.
