"Mister Kennedy?"

Leon groaned quietly as he found himself woken from a rather much-needed deep sleep. He forced his bleary eyes to open to the pediatric nurse who was caring for Cristi. He sat up and asked, "Yes?"

"The hospital has agreed to discharge you. Your conditions are pretty stable."

Leon blinked for a moment. Discharge? Wait a moment...

He nodded; right. In the delivery ward, mothers could only stay up to 48 hours in the hospital after delivering a baby. Sometimes in emergencies, doctors kept the patient mother and child for an extra day. But this was not an emergency case. Even if his circumstances were different, he was still a patient. He eased his feet over the bed, then carefully stood up. Cristiana in his arms, he glanced around.

Clothes...he needed clothes.

"Sir? The lady who was here yesterday has clothes for you. She's waiting outside in the hallway."

"Hunnigan?"

Leon couldn't help but prompt the question. He knew it wouldn't have been another person, given his circumstances. When the nurse nodded to confirm he did the same. He informed her, "Let her come in."

"Yes sir."

The nurse left, leaving Leon and Cristi alone for the moment. As Hunnigan stepped in, Leon noted how hurried she seemed as she laid a shopping bag on the bed.

"We have to hurry," she told him in a hushed voice. "Somehow it got out that you gave birth and the news media are crawling around the hospital. They've been pestering patients left and right."

Leon stared at Hunnigan. He gasped, "They know?! How?!"

Hunnigan shook her head. She told him, "Either a nurse posted on social media or opened her big mouth to another person and they said something about it. Never mind that though, try these on."

Leon nodded. He pulled out a creamy-white shirt, a black sweater, and a pair of denims as well as clean socks. He smiled and shook his head.

"Thanks Hunnigan."

He turned to Cristi, then asked, "Do you have anything for her?"

"Yeah," Hunnigan answered him and smiled. "You get dressed. I have her. I'll be careful, I promise."

Leon smiled. Hunnigan was one of the few people he trusted exclusively, so to be able to not only take care of his needs, but little Cristi's as well was very much a blessing. He finished dressing and checked on Cristi, seeing her dressed in a little cream onesie with pink socks, a little tulle skirt and a silver hairband with a pink flower over her dark hair. His heart melted.

"She's cute," He told Hunnigan. She gave the baby over just as she fussed, noting, "She's hungry. Best feed her before we go."

Leon nodded. His pecs hurt, swollen with milk. He sat down and fed her, all the while thinking carefully. He asked, "How do we get out of here?"

"There might be a back exit we can take," Hunnigan suggested. "I'll talk to another nurse, preferably one we can trust, and see if we can wiggle out of an exit door instead of taking the front way. There's a lot of news reporters and cameramen out there. Plus with Cristi, it'll be overstimulating for her."

Leon nodded. He stood, checked his things and eased his overnight bag on a shoulder while holding Cristi in his other arm. He followed Hunnigan from the room, down the hallway until they found themselves at the lobby of the maternity ward. It was packed full of reporters and cameramen. Leon's brows knit; Hunnigan was not lying about that.
